Detailed item info Model OverviewThe Sedona comes in two different lengths--short-wheelbase (SWB). and long-wheelbase (LWB). The LWB models are about a foot longer overall. In either length. the front-wheel-drive Sedona is powered by a 250-horsepower. 3. 8-liter V6 engine. mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic manual control. The Sedona's interior configuration really makes the most of the available space. with three rows of seating and space for up to seven. In LWB models. second-row seats flip forward to aid access to the third row or fold for cargo. and the 60/40-split third-row seat folds fully into the floor to make available a flat cargo area. SWB models get a different arrangement with a 50/50-split removable third-row seat. The Sedona comes with sliding doors on both sides All of the added length of the LWB Sedonas goes into the cabin. so they're considerably roomier than the SWB version. The Sedona offers good acceleration even with a full load. thanks to the very torquey character of the V6 engine; properly equipped. the Sedona can tow up to 3500 pounds. A 4-wheel independent suspension employs MacPherson struts in front and a multi-link design in back. with stabilizer bars front and back. The Sedona handles surprisingly well; as with most minivans. it steers and maneuvers more like a sedan than a tall SUV. Maneuverability is especially a strong point for the SWB model. which may be a good choice for those who live in the city and frequently need to parallel park. Front seat-mounted side airbags and full-length side-curtain airbags are standard on the Sedona. as are anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control. The LWB Sedona is offered in either LX or EX trim. LX models come with air conditioning. cruise control. keyless entry. and power windows--including one in the sliding door. The EX loads on many additional features. including a roof rack. fog lamps. power-adjustable seats. adjustable pedals. a trip computer. Both models include an MP3-compatible CD sound system. The SWB Sedona comes in a single trim that's similar to the LX equipment. Newly optional this year is a navigation system. available only on the EX as part of the Premium Entertainment Package. which also includes a 660-watt Infinity surround sound system with thirteen speakers and DVD video. Other major options on the EX include a sunroof and heated leather seats. and power sliding doors are optional on either LWB Sedona trims.
