OUT OF STATE AND IN STATE BUYERS

Sales to nonresidents from nonreciprocal states are exempt from Arizona state transaction privilege tax and county taxes that apply to the sale of a motor vehicle in AZ. States are – AR, E, .C., A, D, S, K, A and WV

All other nonresidents will have the tax rate from their state calculated against the tax rate of Arizona. Depending on the state, he purchaser could be charged a rate equal to the state that the vehicle will be registered or if the tax rate is higher the purchaser will get a credit from the state in which the vehicle will be registered.

If the seller delivers the vehicle out of state – no sales tax will be charged from sales to nonresidents not of the state of Arizona for use outside the state of Arizona if the vendor ships or delivers the tangible personal property out of this state. This deduction may apply to the sale of a motor vehicle to a nonresident from another U.S. state or foreign country if the seller obtains proper documentation from the nonresident and the seller maintains documentation (Arizona Form 5011) of the delivery of the vehicle to an out-of-state location.

The buyer is responsible for registering the vehicle in their home state and for the fees that are associated with their purchase. In state buyers will be charged state and local taxes, itle, egistration, nd all documentary fees. All buyers will be charged the Southwest Auto Traders documentation fee of $499.00, hich is added to the final sale price on each retail sale. This documentation fee includes a temporary tag where applicable, otor vehicle documents and transfers and miscellaneous expenses including clerical fees, otary fees and Federal Express and US mail charges. This documentation fee also includes dealership profit to Southwest Auto Traders. This fee will not be discounted or waived under any circumstance.
