Up for auction is a 2003 C70 Volvo convertible.
I purchased the car in the fall of 2014 as a car to exclusively drive open on a nice sunny day. For the price sold I expected repairs, nd I was certainly not disappointed.
I had the top replaced, ncluding the inner liner and drive motor. In addition, ince I could not get information on the previously performed maintenance, had the service done that is required at the 120,000 mileage including timing belt replacement etc., ought new tires, ad a new battery installed and took care of other items that I thought needed attention. All repairs were performed by Volvo or reputable local companies.
There is one item that I have not yet taken care of and that is the antenna for the radio. It is not a good idea to drive the car through a car wash with the antenna extended, ot even only a little bit! When I noticed it, manually pushed the antenna down, ut the motor is now not extending the antenna rod. It needs a new power radio antenna mast assembly for a 2003 Volvo C70 that can be purchased over the internet for less than $25 (or have it replaced by Volvo for about than $400 because they only replace antenna and drive motor as an assembly). Since the radio works fine in my area without the antenna extended and I use mostly CDs anyway, put that repair on the back burner and sort of forgot about it.
Otherwise, he car is now in excellent condition and repair, lean inside and out, ut my personal health situation has changed so that I just can't excuse a hobby of this nature that is parked mostly in the garage. My wife is right, t does not make sense anymore.
I now put it now on eBay for exactly the amount I paid for it in 2014 as minimum bid hoping that additionally I would get back at least part of the more than $8,000 I paid for necessary and sometimes unnecessary repairs. To validate my claim of repairs and to avoid future unnecessary repairs by the new owner I will provide the winning bidder with copies of all repair bills as proof of my claim.
