Up for sale we have a 1940 Ford Coupe. This '40 has under gone a full and complete restoration. It has had many upgrades to make it a car you could drive anywhere and enjoy it. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of the Ford, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of the Coupe. This is an all steel body that has a few custom touches with the front marker lights being flush mounted in the fenders, and there is a third brake light added between the rear glass. The grill and bumpers were replaced along with the handles. All the glass was replaced with tinted glass. Also, all the seals and weather stripping was replaced. The body is covered in the Dark Green that is base coat clear coat. It really shows off how nice the body is and it has deep rich shine. All the jams and trunk are just as slick as the body. The wheels on this Ford are a set of steel Wheels painted Tan with Rings and Caps.
Next, we will take a look at the interior of the '40. On the inside you are sure to appreciate the quality of craftsmanship. It's all done in the Tan Leather and has the bench seat with the kick down seats in the back. The door handles and headliner are covered in the same leather. The door panels house what looks like the factory window cranks, but they actually work the Power Windows. When you look at the dash they added a panel to the center of the dash for the A/C controls, vents, and a CD Player. The instruments were rebuilt to work with the new wiring and 12 Volts. A tach has been added under the left side of the dash. Also you'll see it has the Tilt Wheel with what looks like a stock wheel. This Coupe has the cruise controls added along with a power switch for the vent in front of the windshield.
Finally, we will take a look at the driveline of the Ford. Under the hood it's powered by a 350 V8 with a 700 R Trans and an 8.8 Ford Rear End. The engine is dressed with a set of Ford Cobra Valve Covers and breather. The valve covers are Ford and the engine has a set of plates to bolt them on a Chevy Engine. It has shorty headers with Dual exhaust. The fit of the Vintage A/C is very neat and to keep it cool it has an Aluminum Radiator with electric fan. Under the front is a Fat Man Front End with Tubular Control Arms and Power Rack & Pinon Steering. Also this '40 comes with Power Brakes with Disc on all four corners, the booster is underneath the body. When you look underneath this Ford you'll see the same quality of craftsmanship with painted floors and everything is highly detailed.
