1996 Chevrolet Camaro ConvertibleOriginal Owner
Garage KeptExcellent Condition115K
The reason we are selling: My mother ordered this car brand new when my folks became empty nesters. It has been babied since day one. Every October she would drive it from Manhattan KS to South Florida for the winter and back up in the spring. It was never driven in snow or bad weather.10 years later in 2006, Pontiac came out with the Solstice. She ordered one and we decided to sell the Camaro......fast forward 10 more years and she still has both. Now at the age of 71 she has decided that it is time to let them both go and look for a new(er) Stingray convertible.
The car has always been garaged, and I mean religiously. It is 100% original. It has never had any paint work done and has never been in a accident. The paint is still very shiny and in great shape. With the exception of a few very small rock chips here and there it does not have any scratches, dings, dents, etc. It also has no sun fading/damage. She gets compliments all the time on how nice the car looks. I am happy to take any additional photos of anything you would like on the car.
The interior is also original and in excellent condition with no rips, tears, holes, or stains (non-smoker). Nothing was ever altered in the interior. It still has the stock stereo.
The wheels do not have any damage or scrapes and the tires have lots of tread left. They are BF Goodrich Touring T/A. It drives nice and straight. I would be comfortable with her driving it anywhere.
Mechanically it has always been properly maintained and besides a few normal repairs (alternator, fuel pump, AC compressor) we have never had any real trouble with it. It runs excellent.
It has the 3800 V6 with a 4 speed automatic transmission. It starts, runs, and shifts great.
The title is free and clear. I would be happy to give out the VIN if you would like to do a carfax/title search.
Everything works as it should. The power top, windows, locks, heat, AC (super cold), CD/Stereo, etc.
Occasionally the check engine light will come on and the air bag light is on. Nobody can seem to figure out why. They will get them off and after a while they will eventually come back on. We have been told this is very common in 90s GM cars but it is still worth mentioning.
Please feel free to call or email with any questions you might have. Texting will work but it is always better to speak to a person one on one.
512-797-4288 anytime! You might have to leave a message but I will call back asap.
The reserve will NOT be disclosed. I just do not think it is fair to other buyers. I assure you it is fair and if it is not met we will consider the highest bid.
PLEASE ask any questions, come view the car, give it a test drive, have your mechanic look it over, have your funding in place.....before the auction ends.
We have never really sold a vehicle on eBay but have heard some bad stories about people bidding and not following through for whatever reason. I promise we will be up front with you as possible about any questions you might have.
Payment: If you are picking it up right away then cash or cashiers check are preferred. If it is a cashiers check we can meet at the bank.
If you are going to be more than a few days a non-refundable (unless you are unhappy with the car) deposit of $500 will be necessary.
Travel: If you are flying in and driving the car home Manhattan has a nice airport (MHK). Another option is Kansas City (MCI) but it is about two hours away so arrangements would have to be made. This would be important to discuss before the end of the sale.
THANK YOU FOR LOOKING!!!
