In 1989 a successful doctor purchased, commissioned and spared absolutely no expense in the highly professional construction of his brand new Cimbria SS. After three and a half years into the project he was diagnosed with terminal cancer and the project was halted and the nearly completed, brand new car (with brand new crate Oldsmobile 455 Rocket V8 engine with Toronado trans axle) and miscellaneous parts was stored in a large wooden crate.
The doctor never returned to his pet Cimbria SS project and the car was sealed in a large wooden crate and not seen, touched or opened for nearly 30 years by anyone! There are no superlatives too great to describe a classic car that has been stored for nearly 30 years, as this car is stilla new and unused car, It is a brand new nearly 30 year oldCimbria SSor possibly CIMBRIA SS prototype as I cannot find an exact design match to this car's exterior, specifically the two small round tail lights) and surely will come to be known as the most extraordinary Sterling automobile discovered in the marque's nearly 40 year history. This is a museum piece, and it has no equal!!!
As impossible as this may sound, the late 1960's crate Oldsmobile 455 motor is also brand spanking new and completely unused. The entire car has just 3 original documented miles on the odometer. There will NEVER be a more significant or historic Sterling automobile find as no Cimbria SS will ever again be discovered/unearthed in this superb, unblemished, unused original condition for a thirty year old iconic fiberglass car.
The car is titled not as a kit car or special construction, it is titled as a 1969 CIMBRIA probably because of the vintage of the1969 Oldsmobile 455 crate motor mated with a Toronado transaxle. The windshield on the car has a major crack but there will be two brand new CIMBRIA factory windshields in a wooden crate included with the sale as I received with the car, again evidence that there was no cost spared in the commission and high quality 3 year professional shop construction of this ultra rare HISTORIC fiberglass Cimbria SS which also has air conditioning system.
I am very sure that I will receive an abundant amount of emails concerning this car and all of the information that I excluded in this listing, but I invite your responses. The car is located in Las Vegas, Nevada with a clear transferable title and all original administration. Included also is a picture album with more than 75 photographs of the build in progress and some receipts. One of a kind automotive investment!!!
