Description

I am selling my MG Midget after 23 years of ownership. It is a fun car to drive, and turns heads everywhere we go. She loves opening up out on country roads.
The car has clean title and current Texas license and inspection. I can supply complete work records back to 1993 - email me for a copy.
It got a frame-off restoration in 1995-96, and has been well maintained since (e.g. new wiring, new steering rack, new gas tank & lines, etc.). It has been stored under a carport during my entire ownership.
The buyer will also get a matched pair of Midget doors, a Moss header kit that will fit with the Weber, and a new spare water pump. It also comes with the original tonneau cover (needs new zipper) and top boot (in good condition)
Major upgrades: Weber 45DCOE carburetor; 70 amp alternator; Spax rear shock kit; Battery & fuel pump shut-off switches in cockpit; Upgraded radio box with vacuum guage, voltmeter (installed but not wired in), and USB charging ports in place of cig lighter.
Recent work: Transmission rebuild in 2007. Motor rebuild in 2009. New clutch was installed in 2015. This work was all done by Shimek Automotive in Austin.
Top and tires are less than 2 years old; front brakes & master cylinder rebuilt in 2013; New A-arms and front end rebushed in 2014/2015.
What it needs: There is rust on in the passenger door skin (it predates my ownership, and is not very noticeable); The interior is mostly original - I replaced the seat cushions, installed a dash coverlay and added carpet in 1994-95, but it's time again for refreshing (I'm leaving that to the next owner.) The top frame has been patched at several points and is serviceable.
What it would really like: Mallory distributor (now running with original unit & Ignitor setup); header unit installed; 5-speed overdrive; a spin on a dyno to finetune the Weber.
