1954 Austin Healey BN1 100-MSN: BN1/219246 The Austin Healey has become one of the best known British classic cars of the 1950s and 1960s following spectacular success in international rallying and on the race track. The BN1 was built between 1953 and 1956 and was equipped with an Austin A90, 2660 cc, four cylinder engine, which gave 94 bhp and a top speed of over 100 mph. By the time the BN2 was released in 1955, the Austin Healey 100S, a limited production run of 55 racing cars, was becoming well known for its ability at circuit rallying and racing. This led to the production of the Le Mans 100M variation of the BN2 and this Le Mans specification kit was available with the BN2 but was also popular with BN1 owners. The engine power was increased from 90 bhp to either 100 or 110 bhp, depending on the camshaft fitted. The Le Mans kits also had bigger carburetors and changes were made to the distributor, valve springs and a stiffened front anti roll bar was added. You are looking at a very desirable early Austin Healey BN1 with 3-speed + overdrive transmission. The 100-M Le Mans package was installed at the destination dealer (Car Mart Limited, London) in the 1950s. Factory options include overdrive, heater, wire wheels, and laminated windshield. The car is stunning in its original Carmine red over black top and black Connolly hides. The car was imported into the United States in the 1960s. A no-expense-spared restoration was commissioned in the late 1990s. Once a prestigious show winner, the Healey has been put back into service and enjoyed as it was intended - on the open road! It has never been driven in the rain, at least since the restoration. The original (un-restored) side curtains and bumpers are included in the sale. The lights, brake lights and gauges are in working order. The wipers have been lowered beneath the cowl and secured in place (Cal Look). To return them to service simply remove the rubber plugs in the cowl, raise the wiper shafts through the holes, secure them and install the wiper arms. It is beautiful to look at and even more spectacular to drive! For more details I can be reached at (772) 285-1460. TERMS: Winning bidder to pay $500 deposit via paypal upon auction close.
