THE FIRST CAR I EVER HAD WAS A 1969 FIREBIRD. I HUNTED HIGH AND LOW AND FOUND THE RIGHT RUST FREE SUPER SOLID FIREBIRD CONVERTIBLE. MOST PEOPLE DONT KNOW BUT FIREBIRDS AND CAMAROS ARE SISTER VEHICLES AND GENERATION 1 F-BODY CARS SHARED MANY OF THE BULK COMPONENTS. THAT BEING SAID, PONTIACS WERE A BIT PRICER AND HELD A FEW MORE LUXURY ASPECTS. SO WHEN IT CAME TO SALES MORE CAMAROS WERE PURCHASED TO THE RATIO OF ABOUT 7:1. THAT MAKE FIREBIRDS MORE RARE. ANOTHER NOT WELL KNOWN FACT IS PONTIAC MOTORS BY THE NATURE OF THE ENGINEERING WERE MUCH MORE AGGRESSIVE WITH THE TORQUE IN THEIR MOTORS. NOT TO SAY CHEVY'S DIDNT HAVE HP BUT THEY LACKED THE TORQUE THAT GAVE PONTIACS THE DRAG STRIP EDGE!BACK TO SUPPLY AND DEMAND 1967/1968 WERE VERY SIMILAR BODIES IN BOTH FIREBIRD AND CAMAROS. THE 1969 WAS A STAND ALONE BODY AND IT BECAME ICONIC FOR BOTH CAMARO'S AND FIREBIRDS.

1969 FIREBIRD :LASER STRAIGHT BODY, NEW FLOOR, QUARTERS & LOWER FENDERS. BRAND NEW CHROME BUMPERS FRONT AND REAR, BRAND NEW WHITE INTERIOR: SEATS, CONSOLE, CARPET, WEATHER STRIPING/ SEALS. MOTOR IS A VERY TIGHT FRESHLY REBUILT SUPER TORQUEY 350 WITH A 350 HO CAM WITH EDELBROCK INTAKE & CARB, HEADERS W/ FULL DUAL EXHAUST. IT HAS DISC BRAKES, POWER STEERING, ALUMINIUM RADITOR WITH ELECTRIC FANS. THIS CAR WAS BUILT RIGHT AND BUILT WITH THE PROSPECTS OF NEVER SELLING AND ONLY PLAYING AND ENHANCING. IT HAS A REBUILT TURBO 400 TRANSMISSION WITH A SHIFT KIT & 10 BOLT REAR END. IT HAS A NEW GAS TANK ALL NEW LINES. SUSPENSION ISFAIR WITH MANY NEW PARTS, THE RIMS AND TIRES ARE NEW. 17's . TIRES ARE WIDE WITH GREAT TREAD FAIRLY WIDE TO FILL THE WHEEL WELLS BUT NOT TO WIDE TO LOOK RIDICULOUS. THIS IS A TASTEFUL PROTOURING TYPE OF CAR. IT HAS ALL THE INGREDIENTS TO MAKE IT INSANE. By insane I mean lowering the car, adding a4 link suspension. Changing the rear gears and swapping the heads and cam for something that may breath better. There is an easy 75hp that can be unleashed very quickly. Just put your hand by the exhaust the compression coming through will blow your hand back. we made year on, firebird central and classic industries rich plus the occasional summit purchase to the tune of abt 31K in receipts!$!
THE CAR IS EASY TO DRIVE AND HAS SOME BOOGIE IN THE THROTTLE. A TOE IN WILL GET YOUR ATTENTION. TORQUE/TORQUE/TORQUE. ALL PONTIAC. TURN KEY START UP WITH THE SCREACH OF A HIGH TORQUE STARTER TO GET THAT CRANK TURNING.IT IS A VERY DRIVABLE CAR AND WITH THE TOP UP OR DOWNSMILES FOR DRIVER, PASSENGER & PASSERSBY.BUILT IT RIGHT. NOTES, RECIEPTS PICS, ETC!
NOTE: The dashboard has a brand new pad and all gauges work. The wiper switch is a bit temperamental. Thedash opening for radio and ash tray is emptyas I was not sure as to whether I would put factory or after market stereo equipment.. The visor window shades are removed by windsheild. I never ordered them as I don't use them. I am tall always found them annoying. Lastly the car is in incredibly niceoverall condition: the body is laser straight., the nose in greatshape( endur, with new black rubber seal seal fresh and pliable ( some idiots sometimes paint them!) all chrome bumpers ascents are either new or were really nice, but mostly new.The paint is great no swirls, no runs, nofisheyes or real imperfections to speak of. There is the tiniest ripple that is not bubbling orrust but poor prepon the bottom edge of the trunk lid abt an inch long and qtr inch wide. That's the worst of it. Itis a 8.75-9 out of a 10 in quality in my opinion.It has 2 or 3 insignificant stone chips from the road trivial and tiny. (flecks ). Body gaps and seams are good but the rear of the hood can come down an eighth of an inch, same with drivers door. The average enthusiast would not even notice these trivialities. Iam critical as this is my baby!
