"Real Attention Getter" - I live in Naples Fl (highest wealth per capita in North America)The roads are filled with many exotic cars, but I probably get more interest in this car than anyone.Because the body looks so amazing. I have removed all Toyota markings and have custom logo and “Merrill" written inMaseratiscript on the back of car.I have 8 years experience working with plastic, manufacturing and selling plastic tools around the world.
I wanted to produce some custom plastic parts for the MR2’s that would improve the look dramatically.The new logo and name of the new parts is on the car. (You could changed out badges if desired)
Be Sure to notice how the rear of car doesn't have the ugly plastic webbing toyota put on the car, I have completely redesigned these panels, they look a million percent better. I carried this theme to the hood scoops as well! I am not sure the pictures to not do them justice.
I think its fun and amusing When I come out of the grocery store and there are 6 people hanging out looking at the car in the parking lot. Trying to figure out what it is!It looks very exotic but like nothing they have ever seen!
The running gear is all stock Toyota for dependability. The 2 parts that Toyota had any problems with on this model (the GSA - Gear Shift Actuator, and the Transmission computer) have both been replaced recently, so I expect the sports car will be a wonderful, fun, dependable, car for many miles to come.
The Black leather interior has been custom accented tastefully with beautiful Red Brazilian leather.A back up camera and left shoulder check camera were added.In the dash, the monitor can be laid down and completely hidden in the secrete dash compartment (lined with red Graphite vinyl) for security.
I have changed the look of the big bug eye headlights Toyota designed, to a more modern slanted look,plus I added a row of LED lights to the lower headlights.
This MR2 has something usually only found on hundred thousand dollar sports cars, and that is a 6 speed Sequential shift (designed by Bosh BMW). Toyota put this in a few 2003 to 2005 Spyders. SO FUN TO DRIVE. You can choose to shift gears with buttons on the steering wheel or the stick.This is a true standard transmutation (not automatic). But an on board computer runs the clutch for you (there is no clutch pedal for you to push).
I have designed a new look for the rear panel, and manufactured parts that blend in with the styling of the car, but much more pleasing.
I have also carried the design from the rear panels to the hood scoops, Of course the engine is in the back but these scoops give a much sexier look to the front, while keeping the hood (which is a trunk in this case) weather proof.
Although I am including the spare tire (shows as brand new) in its jacket. I recommend running the car with no spare tire which gives you a relatively large space for shopping bags in the front trunk.Little attention was given by Toyota to storage space. Car has two cubby holes behind the seat backs, that is about it - if you run with the spare tire.With new looking tires how likely are you to get a flat tire, I figure? Your call!
The convertible top looks as it did on the show room floor brand new, must have spent its life in the garage (certainly not in the Florida Sun, LOL)!
With4 wheel disk brakes the car stops on a dime.The front bumper paint is shiny smooth but not the polished mirror finish that the hood has. Most would not notice or care, but in the intreset of disclosure. Although bumper is fine, someone picky might have it re-sprayed.
