*** I am looking at buying a specific vehicle, and if it sells I will pull this ad and continue to drive it. Additionally, i am selling locally as well and if it sells locally before a "buy it now" or the end of the auction is reached, I will pull it. There is a fair bit of local interest, so it may be in your best interest to "Buy It Now"***
There is roughly 27000 miles on the motor, replaced under warranty by Scherer Mazda (Peoria, IL) in the fall of 2014. I took great care during the break-in. The new motor has had synthetic as soon as the break-in was over.
New battery 10/1/16
With the switch to synthetic, it also received an OMP adapter (informally, the Sohn Adapter). It allows the motor to draw clean two stroke oil from a separate reservoir. the benefits are 2 fold, the oil is clean, and unlike 4 stroke oil, its designed to burn. it also allows you to run synthetic. (The long held thought is that synthetic should not be used in a rotary because of its ash level when burned (early synthetic), though most synthetic oils now have a low ash level, and should be safe.) the adapter negates the ash concern entirely. The 2 stroke is also cheaper.
It has new plugs, MSD wires and AC Delco LS2 ignition coils as of January, around 9000 miles. The LS2 are much stronger (better burn=more power), as well as easier/cheaper to buy.
Overall it is mechanically sound.
Interior is in phenominal shape. With every option available, except Nav. There is a Kenwood touchscreen DVD and a custom semi-stealth sub box, 10" Alpine Type-R with a Polk Audio amp. It has the stock 5 speaker Bose system. LED lighting throughout including foot-well lighting.
The exception being the visors/mirror. They are not a good design and the issue is common. I chose to remove them, but still have them.
Read before contacting:
The exterior is a little rough, the paint on the front bumper being the worst of it. There is some peeling (about the size of a half dollar), as well as numerous small spots (looks like blue paint splatter, but is the color underneath). My best guess is that a previous owner replaced the bumper and did a poor prep job before repainting. It has the GTO rear spoiler with the LED 3rd brake light.
