I purchased this car from a friend it had been sitting in his garage for years and he barely drove it just started it and polished it. It has never been in an accident and is a straight clean car. I bought it to be a weekend driver so I sent it directly to a reputable repair shop that has back round working on vettes. The car was thoroughly checked out and I had all recommended service and repairs done. I also added the new leather seats and climate control module along with some other interior bits and pieces purely for cosmetic reasons. The steering seemed a little loose for my taste so I had the steering rack, tie rod ends and various bushings replaced along with a set of stiffer Bilstein shocks installed. I had a top of the line kenwood dnx571hd gps/dvd/sat/bluetooth unit installed so i wouldn't get lost on my weekend excursions. I paid extra to get a wire harness adapted so no splices would need to be made to the factory wiring harness and the new unit fit right into the dash with no modifications. Installed new factory power antenna at that time I have original radio and will include in sale. I had the weatherstripping replaced throughout car along with window sweeps and glass anti rattle cushioning. I had the radiator replaced due to a small leak at purchase and had the head chemically pressure checked and flushed the motor to ensure there was no problems everything passed muster. The motor and transmission have run smoothly since purchase, I asked the mechanic to give it a tuneup and he said "it runs perfect stop wasting your money" . Needless to say he has my business from now on. I also installed new rear tires and a battery within the last 500 miles. I had intended on keeping this car but I ran into a ZR1 that had my name on it so she's gotta go to make room.
The following is a list of problems i have noticed.
The interior door panels are loose at the top by window sweeps and will need to be adjusted there is also a small crack in drivers door panel($400 new panel). The interior analog temp gauge is reading incorrect I noticed the discrepancy with the digital gauge and had the mechanic run through a couple heating and cooling cycles with a scanner attached. The digital gauge is spot on and i saw no reason i needed both gauges so i have not replaced the faulty analog gauge. There is a dent in the front right rim I could never decide if i wanted to put different rims on the car so i never replaced the rim they run about $250-$300 oem or $125 reconditioned. There is some small crows feet on the front bumper I have included a picture but they are very small and the paint reflects so you cannot see them, There are a few small rock chips around car . The greenwood Aero Kit(the reason this car caught my attention) has scratches on the underside portion on both sides and front (speed Bumps?) it is not too noticeable unless your looking for it. I got an estimate of $1200 to remove repaint and reattach all of the spoilers from a good body shop. When the shop installed the new GPS Head unit I insisted they install a new factory power antenna even though it wouldn't be used in the new system, but because I would not allow them to splice any wires into the factory harness there is a ground loop you can hear in audio system when the antenna goes up and down. There are 3 options to splice in a isolator, disconnect the power antenna, or live with the 5 seconds of humming when the antenna goes up and down. This is as accurate a list of current problems as I can provide but the car is sold "AS IS" and as such there is no guarantees implied or given that there are not problems I have missed. I encourage anyone interested to ask questions or meet me in person to take a look. Thanks
