2015 McLaren 650S

It isn't every day that we receive such a nicely preserved McLaren 650S here at one of Ferrari's premier dealers. However, when we do, it is like capturing an adversary's top-secret weapon, affording us the opportunity to see firsthand what the competition has been busy creating to try to outsmart their foe.

We've had countless McLaren owners "upgrade" ;-) to a Ferrari but this example shows how far the company from Woking, UK has come as of their MY2015 offerings in their abbreviated life as a street car manufacturer. And it is impressive!

Presented in Volcano Orange over black alcantara, this McLaren 650S's paint scheme is on fire in the California sun. The extensive use of carbon fiber surrounding the exterior as well as the interior hints that this car is all business; front and rear bumpers adorn the gloss carbon fiber options and are accentuated beautifully by the metallic orange paint and clearcoat and are complimented in a profile view with carbon fiber air intakes and rocker panel trim pieces.

Inside, the occupants are greeted with a beautiful yet austere interior with carbon fiber bits surrounding them on the doors, steering wheel, and central console.
The carbon fiber bucket seats firmly hold the driver and passenger like a spaceship while comfortably supporting them through the bends and s-curves this missile is capable of, taken at the upper limits of traction and skill level.
The upgraded IRIS system with full navigation shows vast improvements over the original offering in the previous model while the Meridian sound system continues to impress.
