I'm selling a TRUE 1969 Dodge Charger RT with numbers matching 440 engine and automatic 727 transmission, factory A/C, with clear title and build sheet. This is a beautiful car, but what I would call a great 10 footer - this is not a concourse car.
The car had it's body work completed roughly 10 years back and blemishes are beginning to show. This included new quarters, trunk pan and extensions, floor pans, and inner fenders. The car took very good pictures but could use a buff/polish to really pop. There is also a small area on the front of the hood that needs touching up as you'll see in the pictures. The trunk floor was replaced (not by me), but not with a standard pan just regular sheet metal and could be replaced to be accurate - but it's solid and very functional. The interior metal has been completed sprayed down with bed liner and is in good condition. Frame rails are solid on the car throughout.
The interior of the car has been almost completely redone. The back seat is actually original and in GREAT condition with no tears, stains, or blemishes. The front seats, console, headliner, door panels, etc. have all been redone and look great. The car could use new carpet.
The engine and tranny are 100% original, have both been rebuilt and are ready to go back into the car. The car has estimated 500-525HP and the transmission has a strong shift kit to back it up. Drive shaft, and rear end are on the car (8'3/4'' rear end with a 3.91 SureGrip) the car also has newer exhaust from the collectors all the way out the back and new sway bar in the rear. The brakes have been rebuilt and the car is sitting on (4) newer tires with 95% of their tread left.
I'm selling the car because the engine/tranny was pulled to get freshened up, the engine compartment has been cleaned, prepped, and is ready to be painted to match the Plum Crazy Purple exterior. I was planning on touching up the hood at the same time. This is only going to take a handful of hours to complete but I simply don't have the time. If someone can finish the engine compartment, install the engine/tranny, and connect all the plumbing then you'll have one hell of a car with a brand new drivetrain, interior, vinyl top, etc. The grill is also original, in great shape and fully functional!
The car is 98% complete. The engine has been fully dressed out well, with the A/C compressor, pulleys, 7 blade fan, power steering, alternator, etc. all being reconditioned and put back on the engine. The original radiator was reconditioned as well and looks great, along with the fan shroud - shouldn't have any problem keeping the car cool. Here is what's missing that I'm aware of: the original radio, a few R/T badges, interior door handles, door lock knobs, interior rear window trim, spare tire, jack, front fender blinkers, blinkers in the hood, and exhaust manifolds. You'll be waiting a long time to find another all original '69 Dodge Charger RT that's numbers matching and catches this much attention. The color combo is beautiful and gets a ton of looks/attention. The car will probably need about 80 hours of work, and roughly $3k in parts/paint for it to be complete. At that point you'll probably have a car worth around $55,000 - $60,000.
Please email me with any questions and I'll do my best to get back to you at my soonest convenience. Car is located in Denver, I can assist with shipping arrangements if necessary, and would be happy to show the car to any serious buyers. Don't contact me offering to help me sell the car! My name is Paul.
