In case you're not familiar.....Mopar introduced it's new 390 HP 440 6 Pack engine in late 1969 & it was only available in the rare "A12" code Road Runners & Super Bees known as "Lift Off Hood Cars". This is 1 of the 267 "A12" Super Bee Coupes built with a 4 speed. I bought this car from Ron Slobe in southern Missouri about 20 years ago & was told the car came from Oklahoma City. At that time, the engine was gone but, otherwise a pretty complete car (I paid $5,000), it still retained the original paint & original fender tag AND it was rust free! I started collecting the right date coded block, intake, production line carbs, dual point, 5 "H" wheels, some n.o.s. parts as I could afford & a very clean, complete 4 door as a donor. About 10 years ago, I had to let it go & then about 2014 it got sold to a good friend in Oklahoma & thankfully I got to do the complete restoration for him. We took EVERY screw out of the car, stripped it down to bare metal & to avoid writing a 10 page list of what was done, let's just say it is ALL brand new from end to end. The grill, taillights & rear finish panel were n.o.s. among many other small parts, the rest of the car is refurbished or replaced. We displayed it at the MCACN show last November (I'll try to find pictures) & now, the owner has decided to retire & he since he already has an A12 Road Runner, he decided to let this car go while it is still brand new. I'll try to attach a link to the facebook page for my shop that has a lot more pictures & I have an SD card with pictures of the restoration.
