This car sticks to the road like it's glued to it, in rain or shine, any speed, any degree of cornering.Struts - new Mitsubishi electronic struts and the after market Renegade Techworks controller which allows you to control them manually with the ECS button on the dash and also gives you a third, medium setting not available with the factory controllerFog lights restoredBrakes - front brakes done including rotors. Rear brakes were not needed. Emergency brakes repaired.Axles - both cv axles replacedSteering rack and pinionClutch master and slave cylindersSpark plugs and fuel filterBattery and headlightsShifter bushingsAC fully repaired and recharged with R12.Interior stripped and carpet thoroughly shampooed and reinstalledSide windows tinted 20%. drivers seat has electric lumbar and side bolstersautomatic climate control: you enter the temperature you wish and you never touch it again. When you get in and turn the key, it turns on the heat or AC, the fan speed and recirc or outside air as needed to reach your desired temperature as soon as possible. As it gets closer to the desired temp the fan slows down.
Things needed:Body - there are a couple of spots on the rear, looks like previous owner backed it into a guardrail. Very superficial - couple hundred worth of body work if you want to. Didnt damage the hatch - it opens and closes fine and stays open. So does the hood.Seat belts retract very slowly. If you help them they will retract all the way.Right upper headlight plastic missing. Each headlight has a lower and an upper plastic surround around the rear that you see when they are up. It does not affect the function in any way.1st gear synchro - fixing this would require pulling the trans and disassembling it and it isnt worth it just for this. You only put it in first gear when fully stopped and there is no issue. Never grinds. All other gears are fine and you can up and downshift as desired while driving.AC compressor is tired - works fine on freeway but in town, could be better
This car is FAST. It does 60 mph in 2nd gear and you still have 3 more gears. This is not appropriate for a first car for a teenager unless you have an unusually responsible teenager.It requires premium gas. The compression ratio is 10.0 so you must use premium. If you are not ok buying premium every time you fill up, do not buy this car.We have also used Mobile 1 synthetic oil
Comes with Halo data logging software which allows you to read all the engine sensors and display them on the screen, and map and log them over time. We will throw in the 2008 HP laptop we have it loaded on.
This will be a reliable and fun driver with nothing needing to be done the next 5-10 years other than timing belt after another 20k or so.
