2009 Ford Shelby GT500KR

The Shelby GT500KR("King of the Road") was the most powerful production Mustang ever. Less than 240 black withsatin black ebonystripe GT500 KRs were built in 2009. The King of the Road cars started life as GT500s, hich were then delivered to Shelby American for further performance and styling upgrades. This car was purchased new with the Shelby Automotive KR package installed before titling and carries the CSM dash plaque (09KR0570) and is signed by Carol Shelby!

It is powered by a 5.4-liter FI DOHC 32V supercharged V8 with a 6-speed manual transmission. The KR also has a revised engine calibration with more aggressive spark mapping and a less restrictive exhaust that sound fantastic! These changes create an additional 40 horsepower and 30 pound-feet of torque over the GT500's supercharged 5.4-liter V8, iving the KR 540 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. A shorter 3.73:1 final drive and short-throw shift linkage round out the upgrades to the powertrain.

One of the KR's most prominent features is the carbon-fiber twin-scoop hood with racing hood pins which funnels air into a Ford Racing air filter. The weight reduction from the use of carbon fiber is not to be ignored. The KR Cobra badging is found throughout the vehicle, ncluding the grille, enders, teering wheel, eats and headrests, ail, tc. This car also features Shelby stripes and rear spoiler, s well as the more performance-oriented Alcoa forged aluminum 18" wheels that provide a ride height that's 0.79 inch lower in front and 0.6 inch lower in the rear.

The combination of a powerful engine, hassis and visual presence makes the Shelby GT500 KR a true collectible. This is a garaged, ne-owner vehicle that comes with a certificate of authenticy for Carol Shelby's signature on the dash, he original window sticker, nd owner's manual.
