This is an opportunity to own a highly desirable / investment grade collector car for a low entry-level price.
This GTO is a project with huge potential and a great place to start.
This car was originally Signet Gold with black convertible top and black interior.
PHS documentation states this car had the following options:YS Code 400 engine with a 4 bbl carb - 335hp/441Turbo hydomatic transmission with dual gate shifter3.36 gear ratioAM radioDeluxe wheel discsCenter consolePower steeringTinted windshield
The car does start, un, rive, hift, teer, nd stop. I drove it a few blocks and it performed remarkably well. However, he last time it was really on the road was in 2006 and so it should be gone through thoroughly. My mechanic installed a new fuel filter and blew out the lines. The carb will definitely need some attention. Please watch the video to see and hear it run.
The odometer says 30,800 miles but I would assume its turned over.
EXTERIORAs you can see from the pictures, any of the body panels will need metal work and some panels/sections of panels will need replacing.
INTERIORThe car has what looks like a fairly new interior. The installation of the driver’s seat cover needs to be completed. The metal seatback is included. I cleaned the front seats and door panels with some Gojo and a scrub brush and they cleaned up beautifully. I did not clean the back seat and sides but they would clean up just as well.
The door panels and dash pad have no rips or cracking.
Power top looks to be in good shape and a parade boot is included. The power top does not work. I haven’t had it looked at but might be a simple fix.
The windshield has a crack in it. The rest of the glass is in great shape. The side windows go up and down smoothly.
UNDERCARRIAGEThe car looks to have been undercoated at some point. The undercoating is not hiding any rust or rot..the floors are in great shape except for a couple of very small spots in the driver-side footwell.
It will need a new trunk pan.
The frame has two holes on the driver-side middle section...one on each end. I was told the holes are actually in the support frame that was added for the convertible model, ot in the main frame. The rest of the frame is very clean and super solid.
The exhaust looks fairly new.__________
