1959 Porsche 356 A Drauz Convertible

The convertible D is one of the most desirable iconic Porsches ever built. Viewed as an improved speedster with roll-up side windows and more headroom, t's a "one year only" model with about 1300 built from 1958-1959. These were built by the Drauz factory.This California car has been stored in a garage for over 20 years. It was maintained by Ted Blake until stored. The interior has a nice appearance and the outside still shows well. The original color is 04 Ivory with red leatherette interior (see COA in pictures).This car is being sold as is for restoration. The seats are date coded 11/55 and the wheels are date coded 61. All else is believed to be original parts. The jack is still mounted in front, he fuel tank is stamped 11/58 and the deck lid is stamped 77.The car needs a battery box floor, ongitudinals and right rear floor area repaired. All mechanical components will need to be gone through. This project is "as found" to allow complete documentation of the restoration process.This is an easy car to fall in love with and deserves to be artfully restored to the highest standard.
