Up for sale here is a really great 70's era truck built on the latest 50's technology. But hey. that's a Series Land Rover for you. More specifically. it's a 1973 Land Rover Series 3 SWB in an uncommon. but highly desirable Marine Blue. This Rover comes with both a tropical top and a canvas soft top and is an original North American import (built for the U. S market) - not "ex-MOD" (military) or imported from another country. I am not the original owner. but have extensive records dating back many years. Some of these cover a driver-quality restoration completed in the late 90's. This restoration included a new Turner 2. 25l engine (more hp than stock) from Rover's North. This particular Rover also comes with an overdrive so it can hit highway speeds. The odometer reads a little over 22k miles. However. I suspect (but have no confirmation) that it has rolled over and the actual mileage is a little over 122k. All bulkheads. frame and doors are rust-free. The paint is shiny and looks great. The body panels are all aluminum and aren't as ding free as I'd like. but that's how they were when I bought it and it's never bothered me. The only addition I've managed to add is a small dent in the front passenger side wing (perils of a narrow garage). Should only be a few hundred dollars to fix. I just haven't gotten around to it. The only other "issue" I'm aware of is that the fuel gauge doesn't work. I think it's the sending unit. but again. haven't had time to track it down. Otherwise. all systems. electrical. mechanical and 4x4. work as intended. In fact. I typically use it on my commute a couple of times a week. Features you may find appealing:-Complete hard top with tropical heat shield and vents-Rear lift gate and tail gate-Complete soft top with all hardware-Removable door tops with sliding windows-Five 7. 5x16 Deestone tires-Tuffy locking console between the front seats-Recent upgrade to new electronic ignition (no more points!)-New fuel pump-New spark plugs-New rear axle and re-manufactured third member-Attractive wooden storage box in the rear. across from the bench seat-High lift jack and mount-D90 rear spare tire carrier-Dash mounted dual 110v charging ports with dual USB charging (because technology)-Upgraded to HID headlights as the originals are about as bright as firefliesLike any good. self-respecting Land Rover owner I have also collected a fair amount of parts. spares and manuals that are included in the sale. These include (but aren't limited to): new Defender door seals. Webber carburetor. new seat belts. the Green Bible. a Series 3 owners manual and more. Thanks for bidding and if you have specific questions or pic requests. I'll try and accommodate as best I can.
