Up for sale is a pretty rare Westminster Edition 2004 Land Rover Discovery II. located in Corvallis. Oregon. Only 300 Westminsters were produced worldwide. making it one of the rarer models in the entire Discovery series. Clear Title. A new engine was installed just prior to us purchasing the car and has fewer than 10. 00 miles on it. We bought this for my wife about a year and a half ago. but are upgrading to a new car for the reasons stated herein. Please read the following carefully regarding condition. as I have undertaken extreme effort to describe everything. FIRST (and most importantly). the car may run. but is being sold as non-running due to a reoccurring electrical and/or ground issue that must be repaired. We've taken it to a Land Rover expert who has stated that while the engine was installed really well. the re-wiring that was performed is a different story. The car ran great for about 16 months. and then started draining batteries and dying after we attempted to fix the passenger's side windows. Given this. the mechanic said it's entirely possible that a loose ground in the passenger's side door may be the only real problem; but given the condition of the rest of the wiring. we just don't know. It may something as simple as locating and tightening a ground and/or changing a battery cable. Or. it may be a whole re-wiring job. So. when you get here to pick it up. it may run following a battery charge. or it may not. In either event. I would suggest towing it because the car has also died at a stop light before. THE GOOD:-The Interior is in really good shape for the age of the car. It's probably better than any Disco II I've seen. -All the small. but expensive accessories (Mud Flaps. floor mats. emergency kit. etc. ) are there and in good condition-When it's running. it's a beast of a car-We've replaced the front brakes less than 1000 miles ago ($500)-The $800 Firestone Tires only have about 400 miles on them-When the car's running. everything except the passenger side windows work (Cruise. CD Changer. Heated Seats. Power Seats. Dual Power Sunroofs. etc. )-The A/C is really good. -It has an almost new engine. -Comes with a fairly expensive set of new headlight bulbs that just need to be installed-Comes with a second perfectly good Optima Red Top battery in box that just needs to be re-charged (used for less than 2 weeks; originally. we thought we got a bad battery). THE BAD:-The aforementioned electrical/ground issue causes an inconsistent battery drain that kills the battery after about 3 days of sitting and causes occasional dying at stop lights. -It has a very slow oil leak that basically every Disco II has (a quart every 1-2 months). -The rear bumper cover is cracked-The passenger's side window needs a new motor/regulator. -The dome trim over the instrument cluster is cracked-The passenger's side front bumper cover was clipped by a tow truck at the mechanic (this was the final straw for us. )-The plastic wheel trim on the front passenger side also popped loose and was removed after the tow truck incident NOTE: the tow truck just clipped the bumper cover so there was no metal/body damage besides the bumper cover and the plastic trimIn sum. It's entirely possible that you could locate a loose ground and replace the trim issues and have a rare mint Disco II for about $800 in parts (because the bumper covers are expensive). Or. you may have to re-wire it. $500 Deposit Within 24 Hours of PurchaseWhen looking at the Completed Auctions for Comps. it appears that a lot of buyers back out on eBay Motors. PLEASE BID ONLY IF YOU INTEND TO GO THROUGH WITH THE TRANSACTION. We really need to get this thing out of the driveway before the new car arrives in a couple weeks. Any questions-concerns. please send message or text to 407-446-7284.
