1981 Factory LHD series 3 109” Station Wagon $38,000
2.25 Diesel
Purchased South of France where the vehicle has been since new. Covered a genuine 33k from new.
With the vehicle having lived in the South of France there was no rust / oxidising or rot, o was a case of component overhauls and restoration.
The vehicle was stripped back to a bare rolling body shell, ngine and gearbox removed.
Engine was completely dissembled and overhauled with new components, njector pump sent away for full overhaul and calibration along with injectors.
Gearbox dissembled and overhauled with new parts (costing £1400).
Transferbox dissembled and overhauled
Complete new hydraulic braking system along with new shoes.
Radiator professionally flushed and flow tested
suspension stripped back and checked over, eplacing worn parts
steering stripped back and checked over, eplacing worn parts
windows all removed / doors dissembled
paint respray throughout
new window sliders / channels
new door seals
new deluxe Exmoor series 3 interior trim
new ribbed rubber matting
new Exmoor deluxe door trims
new Exmoor side covering
refinished seat frames
all new nuts and bolts on assembly
new lights and units
All in all around 500 hours invested by my partner building her back ip, ommercially totally unviable but from an enthusiastic look it was worth every hour.
You will not find a nicer Series III 5 door. She will make a great daily driver and is 100% ready to go. I would drive this Rover cross the United States its that good.
