Description

Up for sale is my 1996 Range Rover. He has given me many years of good service, ut it's time to let him go, ince I have to focus on other projects.
First, he good:
  • Cruise control, /C, ower windows, unroof, ower locks, -CD changer, ou name it. This truck had pretty much every option for it's day, nd the last time I fired it up it all still worked, ave the A/C which needed to be recharged. I suspect a pinhole leak.
  • The body is in great shape, inus a lot of minor paint scratches and two noticeable dents. Otherwise there is no damage.
  • Truck comes with the pictured all 316 stainless steel basket roof rack, hich is rated for 800 pounds. It has a mount for a spare tire and SIX slots for jerry cans.
  • Truck also comes with two spare tires and two spare valve block and compressor units, n various states of repair.
  • Leather seats are in great shape, inus the drivers side seat which just shows years of wear, o cuts or scuffs.
  • Last time I started the engine it ran great and sounded even better. The transmission and transfer case are also in great shape.
  • New brake lines.
Now, he bad:
  • The suspension is toast. The previous owner had new air bags installed about six months before selling it to me, ut during my ownership there was some failure in the system I was unable to diagnose or repair, ue to lack of knowledge and being unwilling to pay to have the whole system replaced.
  • Bad alternator, r a short in the system somewhere. Truck needs to be charged before it will run.
  • Winch needs new solenoids, ut will work if they are swapped.
  • Droopy headliner, ut that's extremely common on older Range Rovers.
  • Some loose interior trim.
  • The brush guard is held together by rust flakes and the power of prayer.
  • Other Range Rover specific weirdnesses, uch as unreliable rear gate pistons, ccasional electrical problems, nd a tendency to run hot on a summer day.
All in all, here is nothing unusual or unexpected for a Range Rover of it's age. I simply did not have the money to keep him in the shape he deserves. Mileage is a rough estimate, ince the odometer is digital. All pictures were taken in September 2015, ut nothing has changed. Bring a flatbed, his thing isn't good for driving until the suspension is fixed. Both reported accidents were before I owned the vehicle. It has had two owners.
I hope to find him a better home.
