Up for auction, 2003 E39 M5 that has been meticulously maintained. I have owned this car for the last nine years and have kept up all maintenance and repairs. The car has been regularly polished and waxed and always garaged. Oil changes have been conducted at precisely 3,000 miles with Mobil One and a new Mahle oil filter (BMW spec). This is a second vehicle as my employer provides me with a take home vehicle. The M5 is driven maybe two-three times a week at most. It has just under 74,000 miles and runs strong. The car has never seen a race track and never abused or molested with immature add-ons or modification. There are only three modifications that this M5 has: -Magnaflow mufflers installed by Scottsdale Muffler (their work is impeccable). -iPod connector that replaced the CD player. -155 MPH Speed limiter removed. This can be completely reversed if so desired. I will include the Shark Injector software with the auction.
All four tires (Falcon Azenis) were replaced at 67,914 miles. The rear right was replaced last week because it had a nail in the sidewall. The main crankcase seal was replaced on 8/2013, his is a common and expensive fix for BMW V8's. I intended to have the clutch done at this time but it had little wear on it. The technician said it has another 50k miles on it. (I don't beat on the car). The fan clutch was replaced on 1/14 which is another common problem area for this model. Brakes were redone at 50k; all these repairs were done by certified BMW technicians.
I will not get into details on what this car has as anyone who will be looking at it will know most of its unique features. The E39 M5 is said to be "the last good M5", he E60's are peaky and unreliable junk. The F10 has fake engine sound pumped through its speakers which to an enthusiast is appalling. Driving this car on the highway in sixth gear is incredible; the car is rock solid at any speed. There are two issues that have recently come up with the car. The driver side mirror clicks when it is lowered. It needs to be adjusted yet is fully functional. The driver seat has a creak in it when it is moved forward or backward, et is operable. The car has some rock chips on the front area but nothing major. I have included images of this area for you so see. The car is devoid of any dings and could not find any scratches the last time I polished and waxed it. The auction will include all keys, wners manuals, riginal brochure, indow sticker, ustom cover (see pictures), unshade, ew M5 floormats along with the WeatherTech ones that are seen in the photos. I like to have both, ut usually kept the WeatherTech mats in. 2003 was the final year the E39 M5 was made and has proved to be very reliable and well made. BMW had worked out any problems with the car and this is the best car I have ever owned. The reason I am selling it is because I would like an automatic transmission. The six speed is great, ut after nine years I am just ready for a change. Please email or call me with any questions. I assure whoever purchases this car will enjoy it as much as I have. I will work with anyone who needs the car shipped. Initial deposit ($500) can be paid by PayPal, ut the remainder must be paid by a Cashiers Check, irect deposit (B of A) or a personal check (must clear before car is released). Thank You and Happy Bidding
