Engine conversion is of the highest quality you wouldn’t be able to tell it wasn’t a TD5 from the factory. This was my wife’s daily driver. About a month ago she was driving and the oil light came on. She immediately pulled the truck over and had it towed home. I started doing some research and found out that all TD5′s have an issue where the bolt on the oil pump sprocket comes loose and the truck looses oil pressure. I removed the sump and sure enough that was the culprit. I installed a new oil pump sprocket and bolt with the loctite like Land Rover should have done from the factory and put it back together. The truck fired up and ran perfect. I took it for a test drive and about 1/2 mile down the road the engine quit and wouldn’t restart. I believe there must have been some damage from the initial loss of oil pressure and I must have spun a bearing or something because the motor will not turn over anymore. The motor can be overhauled pretty easy on the TD5 from what I hear or you could just buy a motor from the UK, quite a few on ebay.co.uk, drop it in over the weekend and have an amazing one of a kind truck in the US. Contact me if you need any additional details.
