2002 Mazda Protege5 Base Hatchback 4-Door 2.0L

Very low miles considering the year. Currently just a bit under 78000. but by end of auction it will be over as this car is still serving as my daily driver. I've owned this car for the last six years. Never had any major issues with the car. Only selling because my needs have outgrown the car. Prior to my ownership. it was in Tennessee and the Carolinas. Consequently. there are no rust issues. Equipped with power windows. power locks. remote keyless entry. sunroof. roof rack. A/C. cruise control. Everything works. A/C blows cold. Has aftermarket 17-inch wheels and tires installed. 215-40-17. Same diameter as factory spec. Speedometer is right on the money and there are no clearance issues. Kenwood Stereo with Bluetooth for hands free phone operation. Great commuter car. Reliable. economical and super fun to drive. 26-31 mpg around town. About the same on the highway. Interior is a bit sun faded as is some of the exterior trim. Some of the roof rack trim is busted (new replacements available on Ebay if it’s important to you). Has a few dings and scratches. Never been wrecked. Non-smoker (at least while I've owned it). No mechanical issues. No leaks. Burns no oil. Up to date on all maintenance. I’ve always run synthetic oil and high quality filters. Tires are 50% or better. New battery last spring. New accessory belts within the last 18 months. Cooling system flushed this past fall. Oil changed last week. Shouldn't need anything but fuel and oil changes for quite some time. Child safety seat shown in pictures. nor the items in the cargo area are included. If you’re specifically looking for a Protege5. this one of very few clean low mileage examples that you’ll find. The car is available for pre-purchase inspection. and I would encourage a potential buyer to take advantage of the opportunity. Nothing to hide here. but it is a 13 year old vehicle. not a brand new car where you can expect perfection. Don't come for a test drive expecting me to teach you to drive a stick. but buy the car and I'll be happy to do so. Thanks for looking. Also. I am including an extra tire. Tire shop tore a bead while repairing a leak on the previous set of tires. They replaced the damaged tire with a brand new one. When it came time for new tires. that one was still in very good shape. so I kept it. It has better than 50% tread. Matches the size. but not the brand/model of the current tires.
