Description

Needs restoration but what a great example to start with !! Ford's 50th Anniversary (1903-1953) top of the line Lincoln Capri Sport Coupe. Model 60A. Car has been stored inside a farm barn since 1967 !! All windows were in full up/closed position and car then covered with a large tarp. Still has its 1967 PA. intact inspection sticker on the windshield and 1967 licence plate. Odometer shows 44. 00 miles. Only ever ONE owner since new. titled on 7-14-1953. Perfect condition original PA. title still in owner's name(deceased). Winning buyer will be second owner. Car was assembled on June 3. 1953 at the Wayne. MI. plant. Data plate decodes interior trim as red leather and black nylon. Paint codes are for Regent Black (upper) and Royal Red (lower) body. Exterior was repainted in present (unique?) red and white 2 tone scheme sometime PRIOR to 1967. Missing one hubcap and original set of 2 keys. Otherwise I believe this car to be 100% complete. right down to the brass radio suppressor clip on the firewall and correct wiper blades and arms. Only addition or modification is a trailer harness plug mounted to the left of the rear license plate. Standard and/or optional equipment includes; tinted glass all around(all excellent. no cracks or breaks). radio( knobs. ush-buttons move freely). antenna. rear deck speaker. under-dash courtesy light. trunk light. door edge guards. left hand outside mirror. clock(hands turn freely). 4 way power seat. power windows. power steering. power brakes and fender skirts. I have successfully evicted a number of generations of field mice who have inhabited the interior. most have either passed or moved to Florida for a well deserved retirement LOL. Unfortunately they did do a number on some of the soft trim. otable the stuffing in the seats. A quick vacuum took care of most of the debris. Please check out all the pictures carefully. Feel free to ask any questions or 570 988 0048 between 9 am and 9 pm please. I can provide additional pictures. presently I loaded 21( I'm allowed 24). Most times sellers talk about bodys being "solid" in this area or that. In this case. its more appropriate to draw attention to what is NOT solid in the body. Certainly there is much surface rust. Car is heavily factory undercoated. Being that the exterior was resprayed BEFORE 1967. it can be assumed that ANY rust/rot or other repairs done would surely be evident after 48+ years. I can find ONLY one such example of rust/rot on the entire body or car. It should be understood also that this is the WORST case pic. It is at the extreme end of the exterior rocker panel on the left side. This is also the point where the rocker panel is joined with the quarter panel (I believe a overlap joint). Rest of the outer rocker panel is solid but shows surface rust along the bottom. Inner rocker panels are fine. as is rest of the sheetmetal. See pics of driver side floor. bottom of door. under front fender. runk floor and inside rear quarter panel etc. I do not find any evidence of accidents. repairs or replaced panels. Further both doors. trunk lid. and hood are properly aligned and gapped. I have been over all the usual rust out areas with a magnet and find nothing but solid metal. no bondo or filler. Door hinges are fine. both doors need closing adjustment on the striker/latch plates. Car looks straight as an arrow both sides. hardly any paint chips or dings. All of the stainless steel trim is present;most pieces are really nice. 3 or 4 pieces have dings/dents. Pot-metal/diecast emblems are pitted but intact. I was able to remove the deck lid lock cylinder without damaging anything except the cylinder(no key) to gain access to the trunk. Note original jack. The trunk trim panel/cover is from the rh rear inner quarter area opened up to take pic. Fender skirts fit easily with little effort required to remove/install. Bumpers are horrible chrome ! But there. Steering wheel has NO cracks. All four wheels turn freely. junk tires holding air. Transmission has fluid. is in neutral. Car was stated to be running when put into storage for "bad brakes". Engine has clean oil. door sticker says oil change in 1964. I have removed the heater motor and duct assembly to gain access to spark plugs. After soaking. I have removed 6 of the eight( rear ones to hard for me to reach!). They are all identical; no rust. no wetness. all a even shade of dark gray. I am spraying some penetrating fluid into the cylinders and will let sit. Plug wires are toast so I don't intend to try starting it. I intend to try turning it over by hand just to see. I believe it is free. For now. you should assume engine condition is unknown. I will update if I get back to it. I live 62 miles from Ford Carlisle(June 5-7). Pickup/shipping is responsibility of buyer. Deposit of $500 to my PayPal within 48 hours is required. Rest cannot be paid through PayPal. Rest of monies due within 10 days of auction end. Is advertised locally. reserve the right to sell and cancel auction. Engine update: engine turned over readily and without hesitation using only a standard breaker bar and my 73 year old muscles!! With new plug wires etc. I am confident it would start and run. Believe it or not. near 2000 lookers and 80+ watchers in first 48 hours. Unique in my meager ebay experience.
