When one typically thinks of classic cars the image of Mustangs, Camaro’s & Cuda’s usually come to mind.

However there was a time not so long ago that the business minded laid back individual desired a vehicle that displayed class, character and comfort!

Enter the Lincoln Continental Mark III,

There is a lot that can be said for this vintage Lincoln however, I will try to pack as many details into a descriptive listing regarding the overall quality, condition & history of it.

This beautiful two owner Continental happens to be a Mid West product. It was purchased almost fifty years ago at Bill Cook Ford by the original owner. He actually walked into the dealership looking for a convertible Lincoln but was overwhelmed by the car that you see pictured here.

The decision was made to act on his impulse and he took possession of the car in the spring of 1969. Being a banker at a branch located less than 20 miles from his residence allowed him to utilize the luxury car as his daily driver.

Let me say at this point that this vehicle has been pampered since day one! I am sure that any enthusiast will be more than impressed with the cars over all condition and appearance!

Sometime in 1997 the original owner decided to take up the hobby of boating. This course of action required that he put some of his other toys up for sale.

After mentioning his intentions to one of the salesman at Cope Marine he immediately received interest from several interested parties.

The car was sold approximately 3 weeks after being placed on the market for sale. The second owner was an instructor at the YMCA health center in Florissant Missouri.

It seems that they had been looking for a Continental for quite some time. After purchasing it he began to slowly restore it.

One of the first things he decided to do was to have the car repainted. This task was tackled by Custom Carriage in Berkeley Missouri.

The shop is known for turning out some of the most exotic paint jobs in the Mid West! Since this Mark III had an accident free virgin body vehicle little body work was needed to accomplish the desired goal.

Even so there was over 45 man hours spent prepping the car for paint! The owner wanted to go back with the original color (which in itself is ultra RARE and highly desirable among collectors) but also wanted to add a little flare to spice things up!

After looking at several different shades that were close in proximity to the original hue they agreed to proceed with an Olive green metallic.

It is almost spot on to the factory Lime Green shade that the car was manufactured with however, metal flake and pearl were added!

This beauty is simply blinding in direct sunlight! The contour and form of the exterior has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated! You simply can’t cruise this beauty a single block without turning heads or receiving a compliment!

The exact shade is hard to describe in exact detail but I would characterize it as Brilliant Pearl Olive Metallic!

During the day the car kind of comes off as being Sea foam Green in nature but at dusk it appears to almost be Cream colored!

Nevertheless the exterior is simply stunning and must be seen in person to truly be appreciated!

The shop went the extra mile to assure excellence! All of the stainless was restored to showroom condition and the exterior moldings were completely refurbished!

The bumpers front and rear were also restored.

From bumper to bumper this Lincoln received extreme care! The iconic front grille was even removed and sent to Gateway plating to be completely restored! This process alone took several weeks!

Before this vintage vehicle was placed back in the hands of its owner it was treated to a top of the line canvas replace top!

A tech from Old Town Upholstery had the pleasure of installing it. There is not a single wrinkle or defect in it to speak of. The top should be considered Moss Green “looks amazing”! It provides the perfect contrast to the cars exterior!

Finally I would like to mention that all of the gaps along the body of this vehicle line up nicely and the even the trunk edge guards look mint!

At the end of the day she’s ready for any venue

Now that we have talked about this incredible Lincolns exterior lets discuss what she has to offer inside!

From the moment that you open up the door of this luxury vehicle you will be impressed! Every single stitch of the interior screams ELEGANCE!

The owner would settle for nothing but the best starting with the cars seat upholstery! The original crush seats were removed and sent off to be completely refurbished at Badens Upholstery shop located in St. Louis city!

This company has been restoring interiors from limos and luxury cars for over twenty years.

The seats in this beauty received new cushions and supporting lumbar material from front to rear! The diamond tuck seats not only look incredible they are extremely comfortable! I have had the pleasure of driving classic luxury cars previously and I can say with complete confidence this one should far exceed the expectations of even the most critical enthusiast!

The surrounding leather appointments along the center section of the seats are in pristine shape and so are the seat backs! There was no stone left unturned in assuring that this beauty would be ready for the local car show!

The same team took on the chore of refurbishing the original door panels as well! They happen to be in great shape! The control panel functions as it should as this Mark III is equipped with power windows and locks! As a matter of fact almost every accommodating option in this Lincoln is fully powered “including the seats” all actually work!

The headliner was steam clean sealed and scotch guarded for extreme protection! It also looks amazing and has upgraded leather braces for durability!

The front dash and original steering wheel almost look as if they have never been used “thanks in part to a life time of protection”!

That being said the steering wheel was glazed and bonded by Fitz Steering in Arnold Missouri!

This beauty also has an amazing cockpit across the board! All of the pronounced gauges are in excellent shape and the pods are crystal clear!

The A/C vents look new inside the cabin of this Mark III and the column is in wonderful shape as well!

Finally beneath your feet you will find a perfectly assembled carpet with fire retardant and sound deadening material.

All and all this Lincoln is a wonderful investment grade vehicle that is a pleasure to cruise!

It is respectable enough to take the wife out in for a night on the town or a simple Sunday drive!

Now that I have given several reasons why you should love this Lincoln …… Let’s talk about what creates the power to push it!

The heart and soul of this Luxury car is its STOUT factory 460 engine! This Lincoln is actually only a 62k mile vehicle!

I have to say that this has to be one of the most free running, spirited and user friendly classic cars that I have ever driven!

The block has never been removed. However it has been meticulously maintained throughout the years! Earlier this year the car received a mild tune up and the fluids were flushed.

It turns over with just a twist of the key & engages with ease! The engines performance is very impressive! The car accelerates at the given command. The timing is variable and a new air filter has been installed. There are times that you will swear you’re driving a modern vehicle!

This unit has a fairly new water pump installed.

Preventative maintenance has also been addressed! Plugs, wires, belts, hoses, battery, starter, fuel pump & entirely too much more has been replaced recently been replaced.

You can drive this vehicle with complete confidence!

Being out on the road with the throttle open is what this one seems to love most!

The engine & automatic overdrive transmission work well together & have no problem making your commute a thrilling one!

The disc brakes are functioning proper and have been given much attention. The radiator has been flushed & it also has a recent oil change.

Total nostalgia will be in full force thanks in part to a free flowing muffler!

The exhaust system is in excellent shape!

An excellent set of spank TSW branded Raven Black 20 inch rims sets this beauty apart from the other luxury rides on the road!

This Lincoln has a performance appearance and an aggressive stance that totally “stops traffic”!

As if it couldn’t get any better this vehicle also has a set of brand new Performance radials at all four corners!

Don’t miss out on your chance to own a quality investment at a bargain price!

You may find another pony but you will be hard pressed to find one in this condition!

The time, effort & money spent restoring this car can’t be properly measured. That being said I have set a very reasonable reserve on it! The Lincoln is being offered at a fraction of what it cost to restore it!

The best part has been saved for last!

The car is also structurally sound & rust free!!

The floors and frame rails are all in excellent shape! The car actually looks as good underneath as it does on top!

This is an investment grade classic car that will only continue to appreciate! Car cover included.
