Recently fully detailed. this early 1990 454 SS is absolutely stunning with its Onyx black paint and Garnet Red interior. This is a true unmodified. nearly original truck. BF Goodrich limited warranty for the original tiresOriginal owner reliability checklist that could have been sent back to the Fort Wayne Assembly plant BODY: The body of the truck is in very good condition. This truck has the original black center caps. At 74 miles this truck received an under coat rust prevention. but has been stored inside and not driven in inclimate weather. Through it's nearly 25 years of life it has been maintained to near show quality standards. The truck has been buffed and polished several times. The original ABS black air dam was replaced with the later model paintable air dam. The truck was backed into at the back bumper and the bumper. bumper bracket. and bumper pad were replaced. While in storage the passenger side of the bed was scratched and the entire bedside was completely repainted. All of this is fully documented. This truck has the original windshield. which is showing delamination. an OE window defect. The bed of the truck shows some scratches. There is also a small area of flaked paint on the cowl. The bed floor is protected by a rubber mat. and there is a plastic tailgate protector. The second owner added a Guidon brand. factory second. hard tonneau cover which is showing a few bubbles in the gel coat. MECHANICAL: 454 (7. 4 L) Engine 3 Speed Automatic Transmission Locking 3. 73 Differential These trucks had recall for the transmission fluid level indicator (dipstick) and the recall replacement is complete. The air conditioning has been converted from R-12 to R- 134 and was recently serviced to ensure cold AC. A hidden hitch 2” receiver by traders was added behind the bumper with a spare tire relocator. The original spare tire mount is included with the truck. There are no wiring modifications to the truck for the hitch. The only factory alignment adjustment is the toe. In order for the caster and camber to be adjusted. an alignment kit will be required. I believe the tires on the truck are the original. evenly worn. and appear to match the spare tire currently under the truck. This truck has been stored with the tires on the ground and the tires maybe out of round. This may be the cause a slight vibration when driving. As the tires are nearly 25 years old I would recommend replacement. The radio and air conditioning control buttons are finicky but they do work. Sometimes the buttons need to be pushed multiple times to work. I attribute this is to a lack of use and that more frequent use would return them to normal operation. The radio does hum/hiss a little with the engine. likely a capacitor issue. No drips or spots under the truck. Other: A unique story to go with this truck: The original owner of the truck from the L & S Truck and Body had purchased the truck to keep and save to drive after it was a classic. This owner apparently had a medical condition. as I recall it was a heart attack. After he passed away this truck was used as his hearse. I too had had hoped to keep this truck and drive it as a classic. My priorities are no longer owning a hot rod truck. I would rather that somebody enjoy this truck. driving it or showing it. than for it to stay in my storage. This early 1990 454 SS is available for inspection in Fort Wayne. Indiana. Although in excellent condition this nearly 25 year old truck is being sold as is.
