Caterhams are known to be superior to the original lotus Seven as they had modifications to make them stronger, safer and faster and true to their original configuration. If you are in the market for a great sports car that is fun to drive, great to look at and also makes a good investment you have to consider this lotus 7. It has had one previous owner that maintained it to the highest level. Speedstar Auto in Houston Texas known for repairing/ maintaining some of the greatest vintage racecars had kept this car to a very high level for its customer. True to British Lotus heritage it was painted British racing Green/yellow-this paint is original to this Lotus.
Exterior: The exterior paint is all original and is in excellent condition and has a high gloss. This caterham has never been in any accident and all panels are original. All the exterior lights work great including directionals, horn and also has a windshield wiper that easily mounts to top of windshield. Wheels are minilites and they have no curb rash. Tires are like new. Convertible roof/side curtains are perfect as they have only been on this Caterham for photographs.
Interior: This model is a long cockpit and is more desirable for tall drivers. Seats are very comfortable and are in great shapes-there are no tares or stains of any kind. Carpets are also in like new condition. All gauges work with accuracy. Parking brake holds as it should. Steering wheel is a Quick release Momo brand, which is a necessity for a Lotus 7.
Mechanicals/Engine: Motor is a Ford Sprint 1700 crossflow w/larger valves and a hotter road cam producing approx.150H.P. Dual Webers, ry sump oil system, nbsp;MSD electronic ignition w/ adjustable rev. limiter. The motor has been rebuilt and has around 400 miles on it. This Lotus starts right up and idles smoothly. There is no smoke on start up and revs up with no hesitation. The trans. is 4 speed Quaife limited slip rear end, oil over shocks with adjustable springs, isc brakes in front and drums in rear. This is no ordinary Caterham as it has been set-up for high horsepower reliable street use.
Included in the sale is the Tonneau cover, overtible top, ide curtains, riginal tool kit, nbsp;spare tire.
I have great feedback as you can see and i have sold two other Caterhams(At one time i had 5) and buyers are extremely happy with their purchase. I do have it for sale locally so auction may end at any time. I do encourage inspections but must be done prior to end of auctions with no exceptions. Winner of this Caterham will be extremely happy! Bid with confidence as nice ones like this are getting hard to find. Thank you for your interest.
