Sorry had to cancel original listing due to a pricing error.
This is a spectacular Europa. It is a largely original, never painted, never disassembled, raced or wrecked. It is a beautiful little car in a condition you just can't find or buy. They are truly only original once. I am the fifth owner having purchased it off a friend here in Maryland. Prior to his ownership, the second owner had left the car pretty much alone not driving or doing much to it. It has been very well taken care of over the years as is evident by its current condition.
From the third owner:It was originally owned by an Eastern Airlines Pilot in New York City. He and another pilot owned twin cars. The other pilot crashed his car; this pilot sold this car to a man in New London, Connecticut. He had the car for 4 years (I think). I purchased it from him in 1979.In 1990 I replaced all the hoses and alternator belt and installed a new exhaust system. I drove it until 1995. It's been stored in my garage ever since. It is in running condition. I start it several times a year.
From the fourth owner:This is NOT a numbered JPS car. This is an original unrestored car. Below is the description as given to me by the guy I bought it off. It had been sitting for many years and I re-commissioned it. I removed the brake boosters (they did not work), bypassed them and replaced both the brake master cylinder and front calipers, flushed the brake system and installed new fluid. The electric fan was inefficient and I replaced it with a modern unit. I rebuilt the carbs with new parts and replaced the points, condenser with a Petronix electronic ignition kit. I installed a new rotor, cap, wires and plugs. New battery, fresh oil and and air filter. I tried to keep the tires but they had dried out and I replaced them. The car was so clean when I got it that I did not even need to wash it or vacuum the interior. It is missing the front floor mats, they were replaced with coco mats. The paint is original and has a few blemishes that I tried to illustrate in the photos. I am no expert on these cars but I understand the paint from the factory was not up to a contemporary standard. The hood struts work in cold weather but not in hot (I guess the heat thins the oil out). I use a stick as a hood prop. When I got the car the shifter action was sloppy. The bushings were worn and tired. I re-bushed and adjusted the shifting linkage, it works fine now. The rev counter does not work, I have been told it is because of the electronic ignition, but I do not know for sure.
From me:Mechanical: I installed new Spax adjustables all around. Adjustable rear lower links (steel), aligned, wheels balanced and refurbished, lowered and corner balanced. New front sway bar bushings. Tires are new and staggered sizes as they should be.You will roll a rib cornering this thing. Better than my 7. Installed header. New Valve cover gasket and shifter shaft seal. Complete service, hoses and belts renewed as needed. Alternator rebuilt. Brake servos removed but will go with the car.
Cosmetic: Not much. The body is in fantastic shape with MINIMAL spider cracks. Had it professionally buffed and some small touch ups done. The paint is all original and the car has never received any damage. It is original paint, Lotus paint, so it ain't perfect. There are some thin spots. The frame is rust free and straight. All under panels are undamaged. The doors do not sag and close perfectly. Windows buzz up and down. Original Vitaloni mirrors. All electrics work, even the key buzzer. The dash is original and excellent. There is a new hardwood dash that will go with the car if reserve/BIN is met. Seats are good, one area of separation and the cushions have given up the will to live. Carpets are very nice and Coco mats look very period. New mats would be easy to cut and bind. Done many over the years. Head liner and visors are excellent. Glass is good and original.
You really have to see this car to appreciate it. I am selling due to other projects taking more $$$ than anticipated. This car is ready to go anywhere you wish to take it. Please call me with questions, but don't break my man plums. (Which, if experience is any teacher many will now choose to do) This is a great car that you would be hard pressed to duplicate. I want you to be happy with it, and will assist in any -- reasonable-- inspections. No money no car. Deposit of $1000 through Paypal due when you push the button. We'll discuss payment after all that has gone down. Serious Lotus people only need apply. Please don't screw around and bid and then tell me you got leprosy. You'll have plenty of time to enjoy it before anything major falls off. I don't care if your wife is some horrible, car eating, emasculating troll. You married her, nut up and pay up. Be the best thing you ever did.

This is a 5 speed car. I have it in the title but apparently not all can see it for some reason.
