1973 Volkswagen Thing Type 181 Fully Restored Must See Rebuilt Engine 4-Speed VW

Up for auction is a very nice 1973 Volkswagen “Thing” that has been completely restored. It has been painted a very nice electric blue and has been painted in the engine compartment, runk area and the entire inside tub, he underneath was painted black. It has a very strong running rebuilt engine and 4-speed manual transmission.

The exterior is in great shape, here are a few scratches in the bottom of the door which have been touched up and it is hard to see unless you get right on top of it. The doors shut nice. These things were never built perfect, uite the opposite. you see a lot of spot welds, actory stamping, tc… they are not straight at all, ut get all the attention on the road even with the corrugated box appearance. The interior is nice featuring teakwood floors, achometer and functioal gauges.

The polished aluminum wheels are in excellent condition. I do have all 4 windows that simply slide into the doors for the rainy days. The convertible top is older but in pretty good shape. One edge is showing wear which I have photographed.

Overall this thing is in EXCELLENT condition, hey are rapidly appreciating in value and are hard to come by in nice condition as this one is.
