Very Rare...one of only 660 Laurentian convertibles produced in 1955 by GM of Canada. From the research I have been able to do on this car, t appears that GM of Canada was set up to build 1955 Chevys so they basically took the Chevy platform (IE. chassis, rivetrain etc...) and produced this Pontiac Laurentian from there (a sort of step child car). While the American counterpart (Star Chief) was Pontiac all of the way, he Laurentian is 85 percent 1955 Chevy with Pontiac trim incorporated. The engine is a 265 V8 Chevy engine with "Pontiac" stamped into the valve covers. Overall, his car looks like a Star Chief but, f you would set them side by side, ou would notice that the Laurentian is 9 inches shorter overall. It is also equipped with the 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, pot lightsand a Power Top. Even though this car looks great and always draws a crowd, would classify the paint job as a "Novice" job or the car as "Parade Condition". It doesn't look bad but it is not a professional job either. Someone has done some floor pan patch work underneath that I would rate the same way (I am an autobody shop owner with 36 years experience...this is my expert opinion...most of the generalpublic would view the car more favorable than I would). The top is not torn anywhere but does show somediscoloration from age.I personally always viewed this car as an easy, ess expensive restoration project due to the fact that all of the rare trim items are there and in nice shape and that any chassis and drivetrain itemsare readily available and pretty cheap since they are actually 1955 Chevy parts. Due to the rarity, ou will always draw a crowd with this car and the investment potential is excellent and should do nothing but appreciate in value. Included with the car are 4 original hubcaps, he original air cleaner and even the original shop manual. Please ask questions before bidding. I do have a clean and clear title in hand. Car will have to be picked up in SE Kansas (Kansas residents have to pay 9% sales tax). There will be a $1000.00 non-refundable deposit due through Paypal within 48 hours of auction ending. The remaining balance is due in "Cash Only" within 7 days of auction end when the car is picked up. I can possibly store the car a little while longer to allow for transportation arrangements but will still have to have thebalance paid within the 7 day period following the end of the auction. This is a NORESERVE auction. Thanks and happy bidding !
