Description |

I will try to describe everything I know about the current condition of this car so there are not surprises. There are pictures ofeverything I could think of that is damaged - of course photos don't always showeverything. This is not a mint condition car - at this milage it could either serve as a parts car, beused as asimple getaround car or be reconditioned and restored. Still runs well, we have driven it a couple of miles every day for the past year for a short commute and take it on day trips. The engine is still going well, thetranny is likely to need replacing within 20K. Please see the many pictures.
TITLE:Rebuilt title from minor front end damage 2 years ago.
Body: Bumper cover replaced, hood and right front fender touched up but not perfect. The car is far from perfect but looks good from 20 ft. Car was repaintedSapphire Blue Mica about 4 years ago, the paint has held up OK but there are spots on the bottom where it has blistered and a couple where it has cracked open (see photos). The right front fender and hood were touched up after the repairs but they are not really done well - ultimately to fully restore the car the hood and probably fender need to be replaced, the hod is slightly bent and shakes a little above 65 mph. The rear plastic cover around the license place is cracked (photos). There are average bumps and scratches, I have tried to photo all the major ones. Top was replaced about 5 years ago (glass rear window, working defroster) and is in great condition. No major rust or known rust through.
Mechanical: Original engine startsandruns well, transmission is ok, shifts well. Sometime hastrouble shifting to reverse and thecouch bearing is starting to make a noisewhich indicates it needs to be replaced, there is probably 50K on the clutch. The water pump &timing belt were replaced within thelast 6 months, 2000 miles. AC works well, cruise control works, allelectrical andlighting works. Thebattery is not holding a charge much more than a day or two and in due to bereplaced. There is a jack and spare in the trunk about 5 years old. Tires are in good shape and plenty of tread (about 4 year old).
Interior: Ok condition, seats are fairly poor butrecovered withquality slip on covers. The passenger seat is a little loose, seems to be some rust damage to thebottom of the seats. No major dash cracks of interior problems - all switches, locks, etc. work. Power windows are slow and there is scratching on sidewindows and nicks in front windshield typical of the age of the car. Radio is stock with CD player, works. Antenna does not retract but motor seems to work (retractcable is likely broken). There is has been no smoking in the interior but it is not in "clean" condition - seats andupholstery are worn, dirty and in need of cleaning or replacement.
Features: Pretty much stock still. I did add in a rear stabilizer bar off another car but have not really changed much.
History: We have ownedthis car for about 5 years. Mostly been in Florida, mydaughter had it as school for a year up in NY and then it got "totaled" by insurance for $3K in body work due to a minor front endcollision. I bought it back, had the bumper and front cage straightened, replaced bumper cover and re-titled it back in FL as rebuilt. We got is at about 160K in so/socondition. Replaced top, painted, fixed the interior a bit. This is the 4th Miata I have owned. Been and continues to be a fun car that runs well - but it is a 3rd car in a two person family and since I bought a new Mustang it just is not getting used any more.
