Bruce L. Rothrock Sr. . was born and raised in the Allentown area. Mr. Rothrock worked for several local new car dealers and general repair shops as a mechanic in the late 50's learning the trades of the industry. In the early 60's Mr. Rothrock purchased a two bay Texaco and general repair station in Whitehall. In 1963 Mr. Rothrock aquired a virtually unknown new car franchise after its introduction at the New York Car Show. Later that year he built on to his existing facility to display the new Datsun (now Nissan) automobiles. Over the next few years Rothrock Motor Sales continued to build a reputation for quality service and sales. adding stores and franchises along the way including Dodge. Chrysler/Plymouth. Lotus. Chevrolet. Daewoo. and Isuzu. The current Allentown facility opened in November 1977 on the former grounds of the West End Drive-In Theater.
