1967 Mercury Cougar GT** Selling this car for a good friend. This is his Father In-Law's car. who passed away recently. Clean and clear California title. current registered. Short story: He was the 2nd owner. purchased car in mid 70's. Car has been garaged ever since. It's in amazing shape. completely rust free. Zero rust. The oil change sticker from February 19. 1997 shows the mileage 84. 78. (currently it has 103. 60). He rarely drove the car the last 10 years. only taking it out to the store and gas station occasionally. His wife used this as a daily driver for years. Original black plate car. sold in Oakland. California. I can only say that this is one of the cleanest original cars I've seen in a long long time. Can't really find the GT model out there as most were XR7's. not to mention the 390 4 speed with dual exhaust. This is the best example of having a car you can instantly enjoy and work on the small things on the weekend. Just last week. (week of March 23rd) it was taken down to their mechanic and had the following done to make it a bit more roadworthy: New battery. new rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders. valve cover gaskets. spark plugs. cap & rotor. oil change. The suspension is tight and drives smoothly. The 4 speed shifts cleanly and has a firm clutch pedal. Starts up with the first crank of the key. Power steering pump fluid level is full but make noise when turning. I'm sure from sitting so long the seals and pump may need rebuilding. It doesn't leak. Turns signals work. Headlamps are not closing. maybe due to worn vacuum canisters. Floor pans and trunk are solid and dry. All chrome trim is straight. Interior: Seats were re-covered some time in the 1980's with the same stock interior pattern/color. Currently they are a little dirty but can be cleaned easily. The rear package tray (deck) is torn but can be easily replaced. Headliner is in great shape. no tears or rips. Door panels are in great shape. Original floor mats are worn and dry but the carpet still holds up well. Exterior: Car was repainted some time in the 1980's. nbsp;which has still held up very well. We didn't even wax or buff out the paint before taking pictures. Has never been in an accident. Drivetrain: Original motor was rebuilt to stock specs at some point in the 1980's. We're trying to find the receipt of when and what was done. Power disc brakes. Power steering. Here's the body and code breakdown:7- Model yearF- Dearborn.
