1988 Mercedes Benz 560 SL with only 20,243 miles!

This wonderful example of the classic Mercedes Benz 560 SL has been pampered it's entire life. from the original owner who purchased it in Redwood City California to it's present owner in Edmond Oklahoma. Yes. this is a two owner vehicle. The first owner enjoyed this automobile from the time of purchase until 2004 where she accumulated the first 19. 00 plus miles. In 2004. ownership was transferred to it's current owner who in the preceding years only added approximately 1. 43 miles. That's an outstanding 112 miles average per year by the current owner over an eleven year period! This beautiful 560 SL has never spent a night outside. it has never been driven in the rain and never driven on unimproved roads. The Smoke Silver Metallic finish on this vehicle retains the deep gloss and sheen as if were fresh from the factory. The soft Cream Beige upholstery is without imperfection. the fit and finish is perfect. As you can see. the driver and passenger floor carpets still have the factory plastic protection in place with only minor wear to the plastic on the drivers side. The beautiful wood trim is flawless. it is deep and rich in color and finish. The convertible soft top is a rich Dark Brown that has never seen the light of day except for the picture taken for this listing. It is perfect! Seriously. it has never been fully expanded and attached to the windshield header. Also included is the hard top which is also in prime condition. The hard top comes with a sturdy cart and cover for storage. Tires are original equipment and other than age are in great condition. My mechanic noting that a wrench had never touched the wheel lugs quipped that the tires still have the original German air in them. The spare tire is unused and and in perfect shape with all the information tags attached. As pictured. the owners packet contains all of the supplied brochures. spare key. two top locking bars. vehicle information plate and best of all. the original window sticker. This year the battery was replaced and both fuel pumps were also replaced. There was a problem with one pump making noise and so to be sure. both were replaced. No matter how beautiful. the most discriminating buyer can find flaws if they look hard enough. so to save you some time. I will point them out. In the pictures. if you look above the 560 SL emblem on the trunk lid. you will see two hairline scratches paralleling the emblem. Looking hard. you will see a small divot on the surface of the front bumper cover. Included in the sale is a new. original in box. bumper cover to solve that problem. The fuel gage is interment and this has been diagnosed as a problem cause by inactivity combined with a static fuel level due to low annual mileage. Picture including fuel gauge shows correct reading. Service technician was sure it will free up with use. The most important concern is with the air conditioning. Although the air conditioner works as it should. there is a small leak. as I was told. in the dryer. Due to our infrequent use of the vehicle. it was something we never got around to addressing. And lastly. the Auto Antenna remains in the down position causing some weak reception on the working factory radio. Other than these items mentioned. all other conveniencies such as power windows. power locks. lights. cruise control. instruments and gauges work perfectly. This is a 560 that you will be proud to own and drive. As many have said. it is the finest version of the 560 SL line ever made and this is one that exemplifies that statement.
