Up for auction is a 1973 Mercedes-Benz 280SEL. This vehicle has the 4. 5 liter 8 cylinder motor. It has a black exterior and a black interior. This vehicle has lived a very pampered existence and it shows. The car has no rust and runs beautifully. It was owned by a very meticulous elderly gentleman before I purchased it. He had the car repainted during his ownership and it was a very high quality paint job. All chrome. trim. glass weatherstripping. etc. was removed from the car for the painting. Once the paint job was complete he installed all new weatherstripping and I believe the windshield was replaced. He also replaced brake components and the climate control levers. Once I purchased the car I continued the restoration on the mechanical end. Here is a list of most of the things I have done within the last year. 1. New stainless steel exhaust system2. New chrome tips for exhaustAs you can see extensive work has been done to a car that was already a very well kept car. It now runs and looks beautiful. The car has power steering. brakes. windows. door locks. sunroof and air conditioning and all these options work as they should. The interior is original and still in great shape as you can see in the photos but it is not perfect. There are a couple of small holes in the headliner about the size of a nickel and the seats have a few very minor marks that are hardly noticeable. The dash pad has a couple of small cracks near the instrument cluster that you can't see when you are inside the car. only through the windshield. Overall the interior is in great shape for a car that is over 40 years old. Please feel free to inspect the car prior to bidding you won't be disappointed. Ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. Car is sold as is. Car is located in Clinton. Conn.
