1986 Mercedes 560SL 71K original miles Two owners from new Rare 'Triple Black' Up for bids here on eBay is this spectacular Mercedes 560SL. This car was bought new in the Seattle area and came to Oregon with its 2nd owner in 1999. Always garaged. pampered and with only 70. 57 miles. this SL still has an in-the-wrapper showroom look and feel. It comes with all books and records. all of the factory service intervals have been performed. the car is ready to be driven any amount of distance in comfort and style. The paint finish on the car still looks fantastic with excellent depth and gloss. One close inspection you'll find a few small touched in chips here and there but overall the car stands tall. All body panels are arrow straight and of course the car has no rust issues anywhere. Tires are quality Michelin MXV4's with good tread. All 4 wheels are terrific with no curb rash and no pitting or flaking of the chrome. Bumpers are straight and true. they show some typical light surface scratches on the tops. Panel fit on the car is factory perfect throughout. Lights and lenses all look like new. The front air dam has no damage. The area around where the hard top mounts is in good condition with no dents. All of the car's glass is original. including the windshield. The original Bosch wiper blade holders are still present. you'd be surprised to see what these are selling for on eBay. Untouched and original trunk compartment with full size spare. With the hardtop fitted. these SL's transform into airtight coupes for year round use. The soft top is original and still in great shape with good fit and good weatherstripping. The hardtop also has good fit and weatherstripping. The OE Wopavin branded windows on the soft top are still clear and pliable. The soft top storage well is clean and rust free. the perimeter weatherstripping is original and still in great shape. The interior is like a time warp back to 1986. the original upholstery is in terrific condition. The original floor mats show virtually no wear and the carpet underneath is mint. having never seen the light of day. All of the car's weatherstripping is original and still in good shape. Everything in this interior works correctly. Lights. signals. horn. wipers. etc - all work as they should. The original Becker radio has good sound and the power antenna operates in tandem with it. Climate control works correctly. including the stepped fan feature in auto mode. The A/C blows cool. it will need a recharge to really blow ice cold. Central locking system and alarm both work. The dash top is in good shape. there's one miniscule split. shown in the 2nd photo below. othewise mint. All gauges operate correctly except for the clock. The car shows good oil pressure and stable operating temperatures. All indicator lights illuminate correctly when the ignition is turned on. The car comes with its original factory literature and manuals. The complete service history is included. most of the work was done at Barrier Motors - the original selling dealership. Every scheduled service interval has been stamped in the maintenance booklet. The factory tool kit is unused. The car runs and drives just like it looks - excellent. It starts at the flick of the key and runs strongly. offering plenty of power with no issues. It idles smoothly. shifts flawlessly. brakes well and runs down the road with a nice tight suspension. This car is a pleasure to drive. Clean and original everywhere you look. Solid and undamaged underneath. just an extremely well preserved SL. With W113 values now in the six figure range. some collectors are starting to look at the R107 as the next to watch.
