It comes equipped with over 300 horsepower and 339 ft-lbs of torque. But with a turning radius of under 37 feet and a four wheel independent suspension (multi link front. double wishbone rear). you will have no problem driving like a pro. When you are not in a hurry. the features and convenience are only surpassed by the legendary Mercedes safety systems. You really can't tell this vehicle from a 2011 model. not only in terms of looks. feel. and interior. but performance as well. You can adjust the height of the car to your preference. then let the ABC (automatic body control) adjust the amount of body roll - truly awesome and pretty much unchanged on new SL's. What you can't see about this car from looking. This particular car was stolen from New York a few years ago. and the insurance company paid the owner for his missing car. It was driven to Virginia. and once recovered. the car had to be marked as a "salvage" vehicle because an insurance company paid a claim for more than 75% of its value. Fortunately. when recovered. it was undamaged and auctioned to the yard that towed it from the highway. It has already been through New York State's salvage inspection program and comes with a NY salvage title. It can be registered in NY as normal. but you should check with your own states' requirements. Because New York's program is pretty comprehensive. most states will allow you to title without another inspection. If you are unsure. nbsp;check with your Motor Vehicle Department or call me. and I will be glad to find out the process in your state for you. Most banks and insurance companies have no concerns with a salvage title. especially on an older car. The treatment and condition of the car is far more important and the salvage title; that means $$$$$ saved for smart shoppers. These cars have been trending at about $15. 00 on ebay and nationally. With a salvage title. you might save almost a third of that!The only item the car needs is the front valance replaced or repaired. some people often call this a chin spoiler. They are pretty low up front and the curbs are pretty high. and you know what happens next. I have included pictures so you can see it close up. It can be fixed or replaced. Damage to them is so inevitable. that you might just leave it alone and enjoy the car. The car may also soon need a front battery (the rear one is one month old). and new tires next season. These cars are very dependable. but have a thirst for tires and batteries. You will most likely only get four years on the batteries. two seasons on the tires. I think it is the number of computers and modules and the fact that most of the SL500's sit for a few months when it not prime convertible season. The tires just because the cars are heavy (that is why they ride so smoothly) but also generate a great deal of grip (why they handle so well and are so controlled at speed).
