1992 500EVIN: WDBEA36E0NB723266Spruce Green167k Orig miles I bought this car in 2009 and it's been one of my weekly drivers. It was in excellent shape when I bought it and I've kept up with all the maintenance. much of the work I've had done were improvements and upgrades and always done by the same MB certified mechanic; car has recently gone through a check up and given a clean bill of health other than the minor things listed below. I'm only selling it because I have 3 other vehicles and could use the garage space. The 500E looks and runs excellent and is completely stock except for what I will list below. The only issue is the electric rear window shade recently stopped; the motor for this still works and the shade will go down but not back up using the motor; I haven't had time to look into fixing it. it may just be the cable off the track. All the lights. power windows. heated seats work. sunroof has no leaks. Interior is in good shape except a seam tear on the drivers seat (see pic). I would give the interior a B+. Engine runs strong. no smoke. no oil leaks. plenty of power. shifts strong. amazing on the highway! Suspension. steering is nice and tight. tires have about 5k miles on them since new. . Upgrades-Not StockBrakes - Replaced with bigger Silver Arrow brake system from a 2001 R129 SL. Car stops amazingly. The original stock brakes come with the car. Rims - AMG 3pc OZ Rims - The rims were professionally and completely restored by Wheel Collision Center in PA who I highly recommend. restoration cost alone of the rims was $1500. The rears are 275/40ZR17 about 11"wide!!. IMO they fill out the 500E's wide wheel wells very nicely. The original rims also come with the car (two sets of rims and tires) - The stock rims are also the very rare 6 spoke option. see pic. Car is a bit quicker with the stock rims but the AMG's look sooooo good. your choice what to drive on. Muffler is not stock - Exhaust system. resonator is stock. The muffler is pretty much a hollow compartment so it has a nice mild growl from the resonator. Repairs DoneMajor AC overhaul - Removing the dash is not fun so along with the condenser and vacuum elements. I replaced every part inside the dash that could possibly go bad. AC is ice cold. Console wood - has been professionally refinished. Brakes. plugs. fuel filter. battery. tensioner belt. synthetic oil and all the usual stuff needed at checkups. Car has always been meticulously maintained. Needs - things I would repair/replaceRear window shade motor up/down function - motor works. Plastic around headlights is starting to yellow (see pics). Paint is not perfect but not bad. some nicks. On 1-10. I'd give it an 8 (see pics). The clear coat on the roof was fading so it's been wrapped in black and looks pretty cool. Tear in drivers Ricaro seat. The 500E prices have been on the rise recently and this is about as nice as it gets if you want a fun drive-able classic. I don't foresee any major issues with this car in the near future. It's been a great car without many headaches and would feel comfortable driving this car anywhere. Car is a great driver as it is but if someone wants to take it the extra 2% for a restoration with the things listed above. this would be a great candidate for a show car. Any questions. feel free to contact me. I've had a lot of requests from people to buy the AMG OZ and/or the 6 spoke factory rims separately. If you want only one set of rims with the car. be sure to send me a message when you make offer.
