This is a great driver quality 230SL. The car has been fitted with a 'taller' rear end from a Mercedes-Benz V8 sedan from the early 70s which allows you to cruise comfortably at highway speeds in the 3000 rpm range instead of at 3,800 - 4,000 rpms. The car accelerates quickly and shifts through the gears smoothly, hifter bushings are good and the transmission is tight. This car has the optional power steering which makes low speed steering easy.

The car has been repainted fairly recently, efore I purchased it. While the paint isn't perfect, t is very presentable. There are some visible dings and light dents that could be remedied with paintless dent removal... on the hood, runk and passenger's door most notably, 've tried to point out some of the dents in the more than 80 photos below. You can clearly see the tape marks from the repaint under the hood, n the inner fenders, ear the spot welds. While the car doesn't retain its exterior 'fender notches', he fenders do look to be original as the inner fender spot welds are clearly visible on both sides of the car. The engine bay is clean, lthough not spotless, gain this is a very nice driver example... it's nice, ut not so nice that you can't drive it over the back roads and enjoy it without worrying too much about acquiring a new rock chip or two. There is NO rust on the body or underside of this car, acquired it earlier this year from the West coast (see underside photos taken on a lift below).

The black MB tex was replaced at some point. The seats are in very nice condition, adding is good, here is a small patch on the driver's outboard side of the seat... there was a blemish that that looks to have been patched. The wood has been replaced throughout and shows glossy and new. The carpet looks to have been replaced at some point as well, t is in very nice condition (no holes cut in back parcel shelf for additional stereo speakers!). The soft top is in nice condition. The back window is clear, t fits nicely, ot too tight, ot loose, asy to raise and lower and latch, ront and rear. The hard top is contrasting 'white grey' in color and may be original paint. The glass is good and clear throughout the car and hard top. Chrome on the hard top has a couple of dings, robably from storage. Chrome on the car is in very nice condition, umpers, eadlight bezels, tc.

The 'tall' rear end really makes this a great driver, irelli tires have plenty of tread. The car idles and runs beautifully. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car any long distance, t's a great performer with a charming look with its two tone paint scheme, riginal to the car, s per the body tag.

I invite 3rd party inspections or come out to see and drive the car for yourself, 'd be happy to show it to you. Call me with any questions... my name is Stan, live in Wabash, N, y direct phone number is 260-633-0009.
