1960 190SL Mercedes BenzIncredibly well preservedsurvivorThis is a highly documented car,service records go back to 1971!Has original PHH44Carburetors.
Thecurrent owner has had the car for nearly 34 years. It waspurchased in Seattle WA on November 2, 980. It was foundthe Seattle Times classified section. The previous owner wasa local medical doctor. At the time of purchase the vehicleshowed 92,640 miles on the odometer. Before his ownership,the vehicle is believed to have been owned by the originalpurchaser. The original purchaser resided in Arizona. Thecar was originally sold as a factory grey color. The firstowner is believed to have changed the color to signal red, Mercedes factory color.The current owner has had the car repainted around 1988. Theupholstery including carpet, eats, nd soft top, s well asthe chrome were also redone at this time. The current ownerhad an issue with the door lock, nd had it replaced. Thenew lock is not keyed the same as the opposite side,resulting in right and left door keys. A new steering wheelpurchased from Mercedes was fitted to the car during the1988 refresh.The vehicle has been stored in a heated garage for the past 10years. During this time it has not been started. Maintenancereceipts for the car date back to 1971. Receipts includerecords for work done by ‘Gubuerty’ mechanical shopincluding general maintenance and brakes.
An electrical switch for ignition is fitted to the vehicle, eare not sure if this a factory feature.
It has not been driven for the past 10 years, ut has beenstored in a heated garage. A little work is anticipated toget it back on the road. To test engine, installed DCOEWebers, lectric fuel pump and external gas tank, nd hadengine running. I have a video of itrunning.
Currently shows 106,147 on odometer
There is some rust in the floor pans,a patch panel replacement is recommended. Cleaning fueltank, ervicing carbs, nd rebuilding brakes will likely berequired to operate car. This is excellent concoursrestoration candidate or keep as is and have well preservedexample of legendary Mercedes Benz 190SL.
