This is a beautiful example of a true sports car. A 1983 500 Sl with the AMG package. This is my father's car who lives in mountains of Colorado. It was garaged most of the year except when he took it to the golf course in the short summers. As you can see from the photos, t is tan with a black soft top and black leather interior. I haven't driven this one much but at 80 mph it doesn't seem to even be breathing hard even at this altitude. The problems with the car that I have noticed are, heair-conditioningneeds recharged (who needs it, ts aconvertible), he electricantenna doesn't work, he headliner for the convertible top is a little rough, here is a small chip in the paint next to the hood, mall hole in the drivers seat, he fan shroud came loose and the fan rubbed a hole in it The electric fan is disconected. Also the dash has a plastic cover on it that doesn't fit right. Both tops and tires are in good shape too. This is a 32 year old car and there are bound to be issues but throughout my and my fathers life this is one of the nicer driving cars. From MG's,Morgans,Citroen and even a 6.3 mercedes and a 300 sl roadster, his is a nice car. Nothing better than a beautiful car on the open road with the top down and nothing but motor in front of you. 1983 even brought us amenities such as heated seats and acassettetape player, venwindshieldwipers for the headlights. This is a true German sports car, nbsp;Shipped over fromGermany, ot intended for sale in the US. The speedo is in K, he actual reading is 150573 KM and it adds to the thrill to look down at 120 and imagine its mph. Thats also why ebay doesn't recognize the vin number. The car is a 1983 but I put in 1980 to get around the vin number requirement.
