1997 Mercedes Benz E300D Diesel Original Rare non turbo E300 300D diesl

This is my 1997 E300 Diesel. I am the registered owner of this car and it is registered in California with a Clean Title. I bought this car on ebay from Cleveland Ohio and drove it across the country to Los Angeles California last year. I bought it from an older gentleman who had a stroke and could no longer drive the car. The car is excellent shape for the year. It runs great and made it here with no problems.
The interior of the car is in GREAT shape. No rips or tears anywhere. The headliner is nice and clean. It does not sag anywhere. The power seats work great. All of the interior amenities work great. All the power door locks and windows open and close perfectly. The Sunroof tilts up and down easily. It does not leak any water to the interior. The sunroof does not slide open though, t might be off track. Other than that the interior is nice and clean and looks brand new!
The exterior of the car is in great shape! The paint shines throughout the car just like when it rolled off the factory assembly line. There are no blemishes in the paint. All the body panels are nice and straight with no major dents or dings anywhere. All the glass and lights work and are crack free. The car does have some surface rust here and there. I am sure some sanding down and painting will take care of it.
Mechanically, he car is in excellent shape! The car drives nice and straight and does not vibrate or make any weird noises. The car made a cross country trip with no problems and I am sure it can do it again. It has 4 brand new matching tires He had the glow plugs and a lot of parts replaced over time. The car does not have any warning lights on.
I bought this car last year after doing numerous amounts of research and time. I like this W210 chassis as it was a really reliable and I liked the look of it. I picked this particular year because this body style was made from 1996 – 2002 and 1996 was the first “experimental” year and 2002 had all the electronics and more things to fail and also was not offered in Diesel in North America. So I picked 1997 because CA does not smog cars below 98 and so I knew that is one less hassle and also 1998 and new Mercedes went to an electronic ignition, hich is VERY expensive to repair and is also Dealer only replacement. This is also non-turbo and so you don’t have to worry about turbo motors failing, il leaks and all those issues. This car looks great, ut has all the basics so there is less things to fail. This is the old style Mercedes that will go past 500k miles with no problems.
So, bought this car and I also bought a 2001 E320 with the AMG sports package. I was planning on taking the hood, umpers, ide skirt, oor handles, ights and fender and converting this 1997 to look like a 2002 E55 AMG but just with the Diesel engine. I also bought original E55 AMG wheels for it. So from the outside it would like a post-facelift E55 AMG. I have lost interest in the project and so that is why it’s up for sale.
