You are lookingat anoriginal 1987 Mercedes 420 SEL offered for a fair price.This Mercedes is very solid transportation car with a wealthy image and appearance. It is loaded with factory options for convenience .The motor is very responsive and the transmission has been serviced and is tight. There are no adverse smells in the driving compartment- no leaks in the motor or tranny . I change the engine oil every 3,000 miles . The steering is true and there is no fade. The ride is very smooth.The vehicle starts right up with no hesitation with the new dual fuel pumps . The paint is showing some minor blemish . It is not perfect. The body is straight. You will see LESS than normal paint scratches for a vehicle of this age. The paint is original and still mostly shines. The headliner intact and showing no signs of wear. The windows have a mild tint. The sunroof is speedy . The air- conditioner is ice cold and has had the modern conversion . The heater works well. All gauges are functioning as theydid from the factory with the exception of the clock. I have rarely seen a Mercedes clock working after 10 years. There are no "dummy" lights currently appearing on the dash. There are no rips or signs of excessive wear on the leather seats. I use a product called, lexol" leather conditioner in the brown bottle. This is unusual to not see rips or abrasions on at least the driver's seat bottom entry area...... ...The electric seats move up and back as they should. The doors lock- the windows move up and down well. The cruise control works. The tires have excellent tread. The trunk is clean and spacious .The battery is recent. The spare is tucked away and does not appear to have ever been on the ground.

Over the past 2 months I have had the following maintenance performed:

New brakes- including rotors- pads- hoses-master cylinder..... includingcalipers

Power brake booster. The booster was not cheap .The rear brakes that were replaced were the original from the factory. Amazing- (The vehicle has been driven mostly freeway miles.)

Two new fuel pumps have been installed.The transmission fluid was changed . The total recent miscellaneousrepairs have cost me over 2,000.00. I have receipts.

The vehicle still has the original medical kit as shown. There have been no accidents to my knowledge

The mechanicperformed a compression check 3 weeks ago and told me that the 8 cylinders are quite even lacking a mere 7% from new, eaning it has excellent- balanced compression.The oil changes have been performed regularly.One of the mechanicsshowed several of these cars that have over 300,000 miles....He was impressed with the mechanical resilience of this vehicle and over all good condition.

Whether you pay the" buy it now" price or bid slightly over the opening bid price you are going to get a veryrespectableMercedes for the money. I would drive this Mercedes any where with confidence.
