You are bidding on a 1970 Mercedes Benz 220 diesel. The miles are very near 115k. The color is (#291) the very dark green Mercedes loved a lot in the 60's and 70's. This car is a real head turner, nd gets lots of “wow, ice car”comments.

THIS IS A RELIST. The original auction winner didn't honor his winning bid, nd as a result we're back with a slightly different approach. There is NO RESERVE now. "Frau Blucker" needs a new caring owner who, s he/she develops interest and love becomes keenly aware the value will only appreciate as this beauty gets older. The opening bid is very low. The reason for parting with my favorite fraulein in a moment.

First, ome history - this 220D has spent most of its time in the northwest. It was originally licensed in Oregon, ut spent a lot of time with a lady in northern Washington state. Probably in '08 or '09 it underwent extensive ground up renewal in either California or Nevada (picture of some of the work, elow), ut I don't know who did the work. A couple of years ago it went to Nevada and then on to a classic MB person in Minneapolis, innesota - and that's where I found it. I'm probably the fourth or fifth owner, nd I know I paid too much for it, ut that's to your advantage as you read on. I have about $17k invested so $9,500 is a very low starting point to this auction. Why so low?

Not to put too fine a point on this sale is my glaucoma, t's turning out to be a bit of a losing battle and I need to man up and take my wife on a real vacation while I can still see well enough to travel.

"Frau Blucker" starts first time every time and it'll run all day long straight and true at 55 - 60 mph. She gets about 27 to a gallon in the process. But at 70 to 75 mph (freeway commuter) speed, think you may be asking a bit much from this 45 year old beauty. She is tight, ll four doors have that MB thud when closing. Below are 24 pictures to check out, ore if you need them.

Clutch, transmission and brakes are excellent. Tires are new Hankooks. I had a new heater motor and a directional light module installed in '15 ( both pricey) Also in '15 I had a wiring problem handled in front and rear lights plus a rebuild of the speedometer (I set the speedo to 100k thinking my record keeping would be easier) and the clock was rebuilt as a digital. All four doors have new vapor barriers installed in '15. There is a new Kenwood am/fm/cd deck ( a necessary for my I-pod). I have the original am/fm Blaupunkt radio. I have all the books and papers and the records are in a three ring. She is currently on the Olympic Peninsula, ashington state, f you want to drive her.

If you're the winning bid, ou'll need to send a certified check or Paypal $500 deposit within 48 hours, he balance in 4 days, ash, ire transfer, ertified check, r I will take a personal check but will hold the vehicle untll it clears. Buyer is responsible for shipping, ut I'll assist in finding one, he vehicle is sold "as is" due to its age more than its condition.

Questions? I'll get back to you quickly. Happy Bidding.
