Up for sale is my stunning 2003 Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG with approximately 20,000 original miles. This is not your normal SL55 and is truly one of the best available. It has been adult/enthusiast owned, riven, nd modified.
I personally do automotive detailing work in my spare time and have been doing so for 10+ years now. This car has just had a detail job that would normally cost upwards of $1,000 to complete. It has had a full 3 stage paint correction, aint clay bar process, oorjambs cleaned and sealed, hampooed carpets, eather cleaned and sealed, inyl/plastic surfaces cleaned and sealed, indows/glass polished, rake calipers cleaned and sealed, ust to name a few of the processes. I use only the highest quality products for each individual surface and this car appears as new. It really must be seen in person to appreciate the cleanliness of it. I am almost "clinical" with my vehicles and do not cut any corners.
A normal (2003-2006) SL55 makes 493 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Because more is always better, had to make a few small upgrades. The car now produces somewhere in the neighborhood of 560 horsepower and a bone crushing 615 ft-lbs of torque. This is the kind of raw power that snaps your neck back and pins you to the seat. I did additional cooling modifications (huge heat exchanger and Bosch high flow pump) to deal with the new found power. The transmission software has been updated as well and now has the stock torque limiters removed along with faster shifting. This hand built supercharged V8 makes an incredible noise and makes top down driving thrilling.
The SL Mercedes is undoubtedly beautiful and timeless in it's stock form. However, few tasteful visual upgrades enhances that beauty whilst giving it a modern touch at the same time. Large 20" concave brushed aluminum wheels give the car an incredible stance along with a lowered suspension and gloss black painted front grill. The SL63 spoiler and clear brake light gives it a nice touch.
The outdated wood trimmed interior has been upgraded with a 3M carbon fiber wrap. If you're a true audiophile, ou'll appreciate the HiFi bluetooth audio DAC (24bit/192kHz) and Clarion equalizer that I've installed. The Auris BluMe uses AKM's Miracle DAC AK4396. You can stream HiFi lossless music from your phone's storage or from services such as Tidal. The audio outputted by the Bose sound system sounds great and has much more adjustability over the stock system. I've also added a Micro USB (QuickCharge 2.0) for Android phones and an Apple Lightning charging cable for iPhones neatly tucked into the center console armrest.
Maintenance on the vehicle is up to date and needs absolutely nothing. All fluids, ilters, lugs, tc have just been changed. You will be starting with a clean slate in regard to maintenance history. Please see below for the full repair history that has just been completed.
All in all, genuinely believe that this is one of the nicest SL55's on the market right now. You know what you're buying with this car with a full maintenance suite that has just been completed. If you're looking for the cheapest SL55 that you can find with no maintenance history, asn't been cleaned in 10 years, nd is fresh from an auction, hen please look elsewhere. This particular SL55 stands alone and it's impeccable condition speaks for itself.
