Description

1966 Shelby Mustang GT 350 Convertible Clone

This 1966 Mustang convertible was built to be a more accurate Shelby GT350 Convertible clone than most and has been part of a large European car collection for the last 7 years. During that time the car has been driven sparingly. Originally built by a Ford dealer for his son, he car has been subjected to a major front to back service.

The car has the extremely RARE optional Shelby FIV Secura steering wheel, orth almost $5,000 dollars by itself.

The signature by Carroll Shelby is believed to be one of the last he ever signed.

Complete service included brakes, uel tank replacement, ebuilding the rear end – including painting to a factory correct appearance, eplacing the carb, omplete tune up, ncluding adjusting the valves, nd more by a noted Mustang and Shelby specialist.

The car is rust free throughout, nd the paint is very good condition with seamless stripes.

This GT350 Convertible clone was always stored in a humidity-controlled garage as part of a major Porsche collection. The classic Mustang specialist who serviced the car was impressed with the condition of the car and no signs of rust anywhere.

There is a minor cosmetic blemish of cracking around the front of the hood scoop on the left and right at the front as the hood scoop is grafted to the metal hood and is non-functional - pictures can be viewed on the Shutterfly link. Tony Branda sells the correct hood, e just never felt the need to change it.

289 motor rebuilt to Hi-Po standards with period correct ceramic tri-y headers.

Also on the engine is a never sprayed 100 HP nitrous system, nd a new Edelbrock carb. Rather than rebuild the existing Holley carb, he mechanic chose to replace it with an Edelbrock.

The motor features electronic ignition with a hi-output pertronix coil and a alternator and starter with less than 500 miles on them.

The transmission is in good working order, aving been rebuilt by David Kee in 2007, t is the correct 4 speed for the Shelby – with a believed less than 500 miles since the rebuild.

Also, he clutch and pressure plate have a believed less than 500 miles on them.

This 1966 Shelby GT 350 Convertible Clone has always started on the first try and never smoked. it drives beautifully with a wonderfully balanced ride.

In person inspections are encouraged. The car is only for sale as the collection is being refocused on pre-1973 Porsche automobiles Future cars for sale from this collection will include a Sunbeam Tiger, errari 308, G MGA and others.

Immediate deposit of $500 is required and please remember you bid is a contract. The car is sold as is with no warranty or guarantee expressed or implied on a clean and clear Louisiana title. You will be required to change the title into your name, o open titles will be allowed.
