Up for auction is my 1982 Mercedes 380SL. The car was restored 5 years ago and has been garaged since then. Only driven on nice days no smoking IN the car..clean ash tray...never used. It has a new soft top and has a hardtop. The car has 108,777 actual miles on it and runs really well. Starts easy when you bump the key. No smoke out the tail pipe and the car leaks no fluids. Recent tune up to include: plugs, ires, istributor cap & rotor. The oil and filter were also just recently changed.
The paint looks very good and the interior looks great also. It has a pricey Nardi wood steering wheel and horn button but it makes them look so much better than the stock steering wheel. It has a new JVC CD player and new speakers. The factory power antenna goes up and down. It had all new body moldings and new rocker chrome put on it when the restoration was done. It also got new tail lights and gaskets and new head light surounds. All the gauges work, t shows great oil pressure. All the lights work as do the factory horns which go Meep Meep like the roadrunner.
It recently got a new windshield and new door weather stripping as well as a new conv hatch seal. Trunk seal is good. A new underside hood pad has also recently been installed.
The body is solid, he floors are solid and the trunk is solid. No rust on the body anywhere.
The tires are matching Michelins with hardly any miles on them. I have owned the car for 7 years and had them put on when I got the car. The wheels were professionally done in silver metallic (NOT SPRAY cans!!) when the car was restored and still look as good as when they were redone. The car has a good spare, he factory jack and a complete factory tool kit. I have an owners manual also.
The brakes are good and all the pads were replaced within the last year.
The car is beautiful and I hate to sell it but I have to many and just dont have time for them all. Ive put less than 1000 miles on this car since Ive owned it...it gets driven every chance I get but I have too many classics to enjoy it much. I have another SL I am wanting to get back together and selling this one will help me to be able to do that. The car has been driven regularly though to keep fluids circulated and such.
The buyer wont be disappointed with the car...it's everything Ive said and then some. Ive invested aprox 13K in the car and lots of time. As you can see this is a no reserve auction so the first bid could win the car which would be a very good buy for the new owner. The car is a 34 year old classic and being sold as is, s they all are. Its done me very right...never left me stranded, lways started and I never had anything major go wrong with the car. My guess is the new owner will have the same experience with the car.
I have a video if you want to see how easy it starts and how smoothly it runs. All I need is your Email address and Ill send it you.
Inspections are welcomed and encouraged as are any questions. I will assist your carrier and will ship the car anywhere however, he buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. Let me know the pickup date and the car will be ready to drive into the trailer or for the drive home. I recommend an enclosed carrier if you decide to transport it to ensure no damage in transit. If you are local come see it...we'll go for a nice top down drive...pick a nice day though ;-)
Some people have asked why I relisted the car when it had sold thinking the buyer didnt like the car. Well the last bidder/winner says he bid by mistake...he never came to see the car and asked me to cancel the auction pretty much right after it ended. I did that now he's not responding to Ebay to confirm the cancelation....so Ebay wants fees ect. Now due to his "mistake" which I dont know how one does that, have to deal with all that and the "buyer" isnt responding now...so PLEASE if ya dont want the car, ont bid. Its a real PITA getting EBay to remove fees. Its an hour or more on the phone....so please think before ya click the bid button.
